Sakamoto Days: Chapter 171 Recap

In the previous chapter, Sakamoto was struggling with doubts about his role in the world, while Nagumo selfishly indulged in the cake intended for Hana. Nagumo attempted to comfort him, reminding him that they were both being targeted by the JAA and labeled as Uzuki’s partners in the destructive museum incident. Their only chance of survival was to either eliminate Uzuki to prove their innocence or take down the JAA.

As Sakamoto went for a stroll, he found himself lost in thoughts of a tranquil existence. Little did he know that two assassins had set their sights on him. However, without even realizing it, he swiftly dealt with them. He couldn’t help but recall how Uzuki’s alter ego, Akao, had dragged him back into this chaotic situation by placing a hefty bounty on his head. Despite everything, he couldn’t help but admire her unyielding spirit, which remained strong even after her passing.

As soon as he reached the store, he noticed Aoi’s distress over the store’s impending closure. The constant threats from assassins had deterred their regular customers, and the emergence of convenient chain stores near train stations had further decreased their sales.

Aoi hesitated to close the store, despite Sakamoto’s suggestion to relocate.

This discussion brought back memories for Sakamoto of his struggles to secure employment and his doubts about his place in the world. It was Aoi who suggested the idea of turning his home into a shop, allowing him to create his own unique space.

Upon his investigation, Sakamoto determined that there were a total of thirty-seven JAA branches in Japan and four abroad, as well as multiple affiliated companies. These branches were mainly concentrated in cities with a significant need for assassination services.

After that, he shocked everyone by announcing his plan to assume control of the JAA and expand his store into a nationwide franchise.

As he was about to explain his grand scheme, a news report suddenly captured everyone’s focus: a JAA-owned weapons factory had been attacked and Uzuki and his gang were believed to be responsible. The fight was still ongoing.

Despite the loss of several crucial members, Uzuki’s attack on the weapons factory is expected to be the focus of Sakamoto Days chapter 172. Despite the challenges, Uzuki and his gang’s expertise is expected to be enough to successfully take over the factory.

This assault is most likely a ploy to acquire weapons in order to carry on with the objective of eradicating Asaki and the JAA. Nevertheless, this scenario may result in a clash with the New Order.
