In the previous installment, Boiled revealed to Shin that he held no personal grudge against him. However, due to Shin’s confrontations with other inmates, Boiled felt compelled to challenge him. Heisuke cautioned Shin to tread carefully, noting that Boiled had previously fought Sakamoto. Despite the warning, Shin was eager for a fight but soon found himself encircled by armed guards.

Jo Shackles, the head guard of JAA Prison B1, soon made an appearance. Even Boiled appeared uneasy in his presence, advising Shin telepathically to remain silent to avoid dire consequences. Shackles interrogated Boiled regarding the improvements in B1, receiving a sluggish response that prompted Shackles to shoot Boiled in the knee.

Maintaining order in B1, Shackles had established an agreement with the inmates: those who crossed him would face relocation to a lower level in the prison.

In a surprising twist, Shin kneed Shackles in the face, shocking everyone. His aim was to provoke a penalty that would take him to the lower level. Shackles, upon reviewing Shin’s ID, smiled and inquired about his intentions on the lower floors.

As Shin attempted to elaborate, Shackles restrained him with a neck cuff, slamming him to the floor and questioning his lack of gratitude for the food, toilet, and therapy provided. Displays of dissatisfaction drew Shackles’ ire, as he demanded to know why Shin was unhappy with the conditions in B1.

Shin attempted another kick but found his leg restrained. Shackles then proceeded to throw him around and slam him against the walls, revealing that he was far from an ordinary guard. Injured and incapacitated, Shin learned that merely antagonizing Shackles wasn’t sufficient to warrant a trip to the lower level; it had to be something significant.

What to Expect from Sakamoto Days Chapter 183 (Speculative)

Shin is now facing his first major challenge on his quest to reach the JAA fortune teller. While he initially dismissed Boiled as an adversary, Jo Shackles proves to be a significantly stronger opponent, as would be expected from someone in command of the JAA prison.

In Sakamoto Days Chapter 183, readers can speculate that Shin will need to reevaluate his tactics, as his time in the prison is crucial not only for survival but also for gaining the strength necessary to confront Uzuki’s gang.
