Sakamoto Days Manga Takes Surprising Break from Serialization

Sakamoto Days Chapter 185 has been postponed due to an unexpected break from the creator, Yuto Suzuki. Here’s everything you need to know about the situation.

The Sakamoto Days manga first launched in November 2020, and since then, Yuto Suzuki has seldom taken a hiatus. Unlike many mangakas who often take breaks every three to four weeks, Suzuki consistently releases new chapters weekly.

The current storyline features Shin and Heisuke inside the JAA prison as they search for the fortune teller. Shin aims to enhance his ESP abilities and seeks Atari’s assistance, but she can only be found while incarcerated. In Chapter 184, Shin and Heisuke make progress toward locating the young girl as they discover a route to B2.

Although Chapter 185 was initially slated for release on October 6, a recent update from Twitter indicates that the chapter’s release has been delayed.

A well-followed account on Twitter/X stated, “SAKAMOTO DAYS by Yuto Suzuki is on a sudden break this week in Weekly Shonen Jump Issue #45. The series will resume in Issue #46 as planned.”

Fans have expressed concern for the mangaka’s well-being. One fan remarked, “Isn’t Suzuki the mangaka who rarely takes breaks? I hope he gets the rest he needs.”

Another user added, “Absolutely! He barely took any breaks in 4 years, despite Sakamoto Days being a weekly series, and if I recall correctly, this is just his second break. He truly deserves this time off, and I hope all is well with him.”

“Indeed. Sakamoto Days has been ongoing for nearly 4 years, and during that period, he has only taken one break, which occurred this summer,” a third user commented.
