Sakamoto Days Teaser Raises Concerns Among Fans for a Specific Reason

The latest teaser for the Sakamoto Days anime has sparked concern among fans for a specific reason, and here’s what you should be aware of.

Sakamoto Days, a well-known manga serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump, revolves around Taro Sakamoto, a retired hitman. After turning away from his violent past, Taro settles down, gets married, and welcomes a daughter into his life. However, his past soon resurfaces as a bounty is placed on him, putting his new life at risk.

The narrative unfolds as Taro, alongside his new friends, strives to uncover the identity of the assailant targeting him. Produced by TMS Entertainment, this anime adaptation is set to premiere in January 2025.

The studio has shared character reveals featuring the main protagonist Sakamoto, along with notable secondary characters such as Nagumo, Shishiba, and Osaragi—former colleagues of Taro who are also part of the Order.

A popular Twitter/X account shared these character previews and remarked, “I would strongly recommend keeping your expectations very low, not gonna lie.”

Fans have expressed their dissatisfaction with the animation quality, revealing mixed feelings about the art style, which appears less creative compared to earlier sneak peeks. Many have voiced their displeasure, with one user stating, “Yikes. There’s honestly nothing remarkable here.”

Another user lamented, “The animation feels mediocre. WHY COULDN’T IT BE HANDLED BY OTHER MAJOR STUDIOS like Mappa, Bones, Madhouse, or A1 Pictures? I’m not expecting much from this adaptation,”

Meanwhile, a third fan offered a contrasting view, saying, “It’s crazy how spoiled people are in the comments. This looks fine. While it’s not revolutionary in terms of animation, it should still be enjoyable. They’re acting like it’s Blue Lock, lmao.”

With the Summer 2024 anime season concluded, don’t forget to check out the Fall 2024 anime lineup.
