At WrestleMania 40, Zayn shocked the crowd when he reclaimed the Intercontinental title from Gunther with a series of powerful moves including a ‘Brainbuster’ and two ‘Helluva Kicks’, ultimately securing the win.

Despite Zayn’s victory over Gable on Raw, the 38-year-old betrayed the reigning International champion by attacking him while he celebrated with his wife in the stands.
The Alpha Academy’s leader suddenly appeared from behind and executed a German suplex on Zayn, targeting his injured knee. As the April 15 episode of Raw came to an end, Gable continued his brutal assault on the champion until the screen faded to black.
The Intercontinental champion will likely feel the need to defend his honor following Gable’s humiliating actions in front of his family. Given that the two were once close friends and even trained together before Wrestlemania 40, the current animosity between them could spark a fierce rivalry within their ongoing storyline.
Gable also reminded Zayn backstage at ‘Mania that he owed him a favor, possibly hinting at the upcoming attack on Raw and a potential confrontation between them at WWE’s next PLE — Backlash France.
