According to sources in the IT industry, Apple is reportedly planning to equip the iPhone 16 Pro Max with a new 48-megapixel Sony sensor and a main camera lens that is 12% larger. Additionally, there are plans to upgrade the existing 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera to a 48-megapixel lens.
If the product meets expectations, the new iPhone 16 will be able to capture high-definition photos at a significantly higher resolution. This increased resolution will allow for greater flexibility when zooming or cropping photos while maintaining their quality.
According to sources, Apple has directed its efforts towards enhancing its camera capabilities with a focus on attracting younger demographics. This strategy has been successful as the trend of celebrities sharing ‘mirror selfies’ taken with iPhones on social media has resulted in a strong association between ‘selfie’ and ‘iPhone’ among the youth.
Furthermore, even popular figures like Kim Yu-na, IVE’s Ahn Yu-jin, BLACKPINK’s Jisoo, and Han So-hee have been sharing selfies captured with iPhones.
Despite losing the top spot to Apple last year, Samsung, known for its superior image processing capabilities, appears to have acknowledged this and has since regained the No.1 position this year with the introduction of the AI-powered Galaxy S24 smartphone.
Anticipated sales for Apple’s iPhone 16 in the next three years are expected to lead to increased competition. In September, Samsung will introduce their new models, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6, prior to the release of the latest iPhone.
Additionally, there are reports that Apple intends to add more features for making phone calls and conducting payments.
