Samsung’s New Drawing Feature Could Outdo Apple Intelligence

Despite Apple announcing numerous AI features through Apple Intelligence, none of them are currently accessible on Apple devices unless you participate in the developer’s beta program. However, there is a possibility that Samsung may implement one of these AI features before Apple.

Based on information from leaker UniverseIce, it is rumored that the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 will have a feature similar to Apple’s Image Wand. This feature will allow users to transform a simple sketch into a complete image, much like what can be done on the top iPads. While Samsung has not officially announced a launch date for the Galaxy Z Fold 6, reports indicate that it will be revealed during the Galaxy Unpacked event in July.

The Image Wand, which is a component of the Apple Intelligence suite, is featured in the Image Playground. Utilizing this tool necessitates the use of the Apple Pencil tool palette, indicating it may only be accessible on iPadOS 18, rather than iOS 18. Both software versions are currently in beta, and users can enroll to access them.

At this time, it is uncertain if the use of a stylus will be necessary for the Galaxy Z Fold 6 to access this feature. Although the foldable device does offer stylus support, it would not be surprising if a stylus is required. According to UniverseIce, the feature will also be introduced on the upcoming Galaxy S24 series.

While Samsung’s phones already offer a range of AI features such as Circle to Search and Live Translate, Apple’s Apple Intelligence surpasses Samsung’s in terms of quality. While Samsung’s Galaxy AI is restricted to certain aspects of the software, Apple Intelligence enhances numerous areas.

Siri has improved its ability to understand context by incorporating generative AI. This allows it to provide summaries of notifications, news articles, and other information. Additionally, it is now possible to use OpenAI’s ChatGPT within Siri. However, the downside is that these advanced Apple AI features are only available on iPhones with the A17 Pro chip or newer, as well as iPads and Macs with the M1 chip or newer.
