Sarada should have fought Hidari alone, and Boruto ruined it

Sarada should have fought Hidari alone, and Boruto ruined it

Despite her numerous achievements, Sarada Uchiha is often perceived as a “damsel in distress character”by fans due to the events in which the protagonist saves her in the Boruto manga series. This stereotype reduces her portrayal as a strong and capable character.

Despite the development surrounding Sarada in the manga, the inaccurate character trope continues to be associated with her and it appears that manga creator Masashi Kishimoto may never escape these accusations.

Despite the alleged spoilers for Boruto: Two Blue Vortex chapter 11 suggesting a one-on-one fight between Sarada and Hidari, fans were disappointed to see the battle being abruptly interrupted by Boruto, robbing Sarada of her chance to shine.

This article is based on the Boruto: Two Blue Vortex manga and includes spoilers, along with the author’s personal viewpoint.

The supposed spoilers for chapter 11 revealed that Konohamaru, Sarada, Sumire, and other Shinobi had surrounded God Tree Hidari in the Hidden Leaf Village. Their goal was to gain insight into the God Tree and its ties to Sasuke Uchiha, but Hidari was unaware of his own identity. As a result, he intended to consume Sarada, who he believed held the information he sought.

After a brief discussion, Hidari wasted no time in launching an attack on the Shinobi. He caught Sarada off guard, utilizing his Claw techniques and Chidori against Konohamaru. Luckily, Konohamaru managed to dodge Hidari’s strike. Hidari then turned his attention to Sumire, but before he could harm her, Boruto suddenly appeared with the Flying Raijin technique. In one swift motion, he sliced off Hidari’s arm, which was grasping onto Sarada.

Despite fans’ desire to see Sarada face off against Hidari, the alleged spoilers revealed that the manga did not fulfill this wish. Instead, the fight began with Sarada being knocked down and she was not given the chance to shine against Hidari. This opportunity was taken away from her by the manga.

This is due to the fact that when Hidari captured Sarada, the manga could have depicted her shining moment through a potential one-on-one interaction with the God Tree. However, the protagonist arrived to save her, thus interrupting Sarada Uchiha’s chance to speak with Hidari alone.

Therefore, Boruto’s timely arrival ruined Sarada’s chance to shine, as if he had not appeared to save her, she would have finally had her long-awaited opportunity to face Hidari in a solo fight.

Ever since the prequel manga ended, fans have been eagerly anticipating Sarada’s growth. However, each time she finds herself in a difficult situation, the protagonist always comes to her rescue. This has hindered Sarada’s character development as she has never been able to demonstrate her abilities.

Fans may recall that in the finale of the Boruto: Naruto Next Generations manga, Sarada was able to unlock her Mangekyo Sharingan. However, she has not yet encountered a situation where she has had to utilize its powers. As long as the manga continues to focus on the protagonist’s efforts to save Sarada, viewers will have to wait to see her Mangekyo Sharingan in action.

Therefore, unless manga creator Masashi Kishimoto has something even more impressive in store for the character, Sarada should have faced Hidari on her own instead of being saved by the protagonist.
