Sarada’s End-of-Series Powers in Boruto Could Mimic Kaguya Otsutsuki’s, and the Anime May Have Foreshadowed It

Despite fans eagerly anticipating Sarada Uchiha’s display of her newly unlocked Mangekyo Sharingan in the sequel manga Boruto: Two Blue Vortex, they have been left disappointed as the young Uchiha has yet to showcase her powers. This is despite her Mangekyo Sharingan being revealed in the final episode of Boruto: Naruto Next Generations.

Despite this, there is a possibility for fans to have even more to celebrate. Recently, a Boruto fan discovered clues left by Studio Pierrot in the anime that could potentially reveal Sarada’s powers towards the end of the series. Although these hints may seem insignificant on their own, when viewed together, they strongly imply that Sarada will eventually possess Kaguya Otsutsuki’s Rinne Sharingan.

Please note: The following article may reveal important plot points from the Boruto manga.

Sarada’s connection to rabbits in the Boruto anime could have hinted at her potential abilities at the end of the series.

In the anime’s first opening theme video, the first hint of Sarada Uchiha gaining Kaguya Otsutsuki’s Rinne Sharingan power is revealed. Towards the end of the video, the word “BORUTO”is flashed three times, each time with a different theme. The first and third instances showcase a Karma and Sage Mode theme, representing Boruto and Mitsuki’s abilities, while the second instance displays the Rinne Sharingan.

As avid viewers are aware, the Rinne Sharingan is not currently possessed by any character in the anime. Rather, it is a power that must be attained by a character in the future. Considering that the other two screens suggest Boruto and Mitsuki’s abilities, it is logical to assume that all three members of Team 7 will possess unique powers in the future. Therefore, it can be concluded that the second screen hinted at Sarada’s future powers.

One clear indication that Sarada may inherit Kaguya’s powers is her frequent connection with rabbits in the anime. As many fans are aware, Kaguya was revered as the Rabbit Goddess. Therefore, the fact that the anime has linked Sarada with rabbits on more than four occasions suggests a potential link between the two.

While it is true that in the anime, Sumire Kakei is also depicted as having a connection with a rabbit, this association was already established through the Gozu Tenno. This fuinjutsu was created by Tanuki Shigaraki under the orders of Danzo Shimura and was a technique that attempted to replicate Kaguya Otsutsuki’s secret techniques.

To everyone’s surprise, Sarada and Sumire are the sole humans who have managed to resist Eida’s Omnipotence Shinjutsu.

The potential for Sarada to acquire Kaguya Otsutsuki’s Rinne Sharingan power was further hinted at through an official anime art released in April 2023. The artwork showcased Naruto, Sasuke, Sakura, Hinata, Mitsuki, Kawaki, Boruto, and Sarada all sporting jackets.

It is evident that the symbols adorning each person’s jacket hold significance in relation to their personality or abilities. For instance, Naruto’s jacket featured Kurama, Sasuke’s displayed Susanoo, Sakura’s had cherry blossoms, Hinata’s showed Twin Lions, and Mitsuki’s depicted snakes.

Regarding Kawaki’s jacket, it showcased a design of three goldfish on the Konoha symbol. While enduring the abuse from his father and Jigen, Kawaki felt trapped like a goldfish in a bowl. However, upon arriving in Konoha, he began to discover a sense of freedom.

Boruto’s jacket showcased depictions of two Japanese Gods, Raijin and Fujin. This foreshadowed the events of the Two Blue Vortex manga, as both of the main character’s new jutsu were influenced by these deities. The Flying Raijin jutsu, as predicted, was derived from Raijin, while the Rasengan Uzuhiko drew inspiration from the God of Wind, Fujin.

Despite this, Sarada’s jacket design stands out with the Uchiha symbol prominently displayed on a background of cherry blossoms. These elements serve as a clear representation of her strong bond with her parents. Additionally, the center of the design features a rabbit, which aligns with the pattern of incorporating the characters’ abilities into the designs. Thus, it is highly likely that the inclusion of a rabbit in Sarada’s jacket design serves a purpose beyond just aesthetics.

Therefore, based on Sarada’s strong association with rabbits and the mention of the Rinne Sharingan in the first opening theme video, it is plausible to speculate that Sarada may acquire the Rinne Sharingan in the future, according to fans’ theories.
