Saving Yuta: The Collaborative Efforts Needed from Almost Every Jujutsu Kaisen Character

Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 268 wrapped up the intense battle between Sukuna and Yuji, culminating in Sukuna’s defeat after being extracted from Megumi’s body. With Sukuna’s demise confirmed through the death and resignation of his loyal partner Uraume, Yuta’s current condition remains uncertain.

Last seen in chapter 263, Yuta collapsed after exhausting his cursed techniques alongside Kenjaku’s curse, which he was using to maintain Sukuna’s possession.

In chapter 268, it was revealed that Yuta has somehow survived the apparent end of Kenjaku’s technique, with his survival now hinging on the ongoing efforts of the remaining sorcerers. It has been noted that Yuta is related to Gojo; their shared lineage may play a significant role in Yuta’s fate as the series progresses.

The unique connection between Yuta and Gojo has been a crucial element in Yuta’s character development, first explored during the events of Jujutsu Kaisen Zero. This connection was used to explain Yuta’s unusually high cursed energy and his proficiency in cursed techniques.

The interplay between physical attributes and the conscious soul was first observed in the Shibuya Incident arc, where Toji successfully reincarnated himself. This suggests that the body possesses a will that aims to heal the soul.

Kenjaku has also commented on the body and soul being one entity. As the series’ most adept body-hopper, Kenjaku’s insights into the relationship between bodies and souls likely stem from his extensive experience.

Yuta speculated that some trick was needed for the continual activation of Kenjaku’s technique for what appeared to be permanent possession. It’s possible that Gojo’s body recognized Yuta’s brain and soul as its own, complicating Yuta’s current situation in the narrative.

To save Yuta, it may be necessary to sever his connection with Gojo’s body and reintegrate him into his own, while being continually healed by other sorcerers and Arata Nitta using his technique to stabilize Yuta’s soul.

Yuji, who has access to the shrine, and Megumi, experienced with Sukuna’s possession, might leverage their abilities to weaken the fused state of Yuta’s soul with Gojo’s body, allowing for the separation and restoration of Yuta’s soul into his original body.

Almost all the remaining sorcerers converged in chapter 268 to assist Yuta, making his restoration potentially the most significant and intricate operation in the series to date.
