u003cp>Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree introduces a new leveling system with the use of Scadutree Fragments. Unfortunately, a bug is currently hindering certain players from locating all of them.
By playing Shadow of the Erdtree in a linear manner, players may face difficulty when encountering the challenging bosses in the DLC. To aid in their progress and increase their strength, players are advised to thoroughly explore the game’s world and collect all 50 Scadutree Fragments.
Consuming Scadutree Fragments at Sites of Grace will raise their level, but players need all 50 fragments to reach the maximum level. Unfortunately, there is a game-breaking bug that prevents players from achieving this, forcing them to face certain bosses without being able to fully tap into their power potential.
Scadutree Fragments are blessings that enhance your power.
It is worth noting that certain Scadutree Fragments are possessed by eerie shadow individuals who carry pots. These foes have a distinctive sparkle, making it easy to identify them among their less significant counterparts. Additionally, they will attempt to flee upon spotting the player, creating a short opportunity for the player to eliminate them, collect the fragment, and retreat.
If the player is unsuccessful in catching a sparkly pot carrier, they will simply respawn and can try again. However, if the player kills a sparkly pot carrier and then dies before picking up the Scadutree Fragment, the enemy will respawn but the fragment will not be available.
As a result, the player is unable to obtain all of them, which prevents them from using the full 50 and ultimately reaching the maximum level.
Ever since the DLC was released, players have been coming to the realization of this and expressing their frustration.
One player expressed their frustration on Reddit, stating that they were disappointed that the game developers did not anticipate this issue. They are angry about not being able to reach the maximum level for their character in this playthrough.
Another person expressed, “I’m also missing a lone Scadutree Fragment from the Rauh Ruins. It hurts a lot, especially considering how few I have missed otherwise.”
Some people also raised the question of why the item has to be manually picked up, stating: “Why can’t it just go directly to your inventory? It doesn’t make any sense.”
Despite their disappointment, many players remained optimistic that FromSoftware would release a patch to resolve the issue with the Scadutree Fragments not respawning in their pot holders. They expressed their hope for a fix, stating, “It’s frustrating that dying before obtaining the fragment means you can’t try again, but hopefully a patch will be released soon.”
It is likely that the developers simply overlooked this issue and that a future update will enable players to reach the maximum level without being locked out.
