SCoups’ Concert Jump Causes Controversy – Why Are BTS Fans Upset?

Several ARMYs (BTS fandom) criticized SEVENTEEN S.Coups after witnessing him jumping at an event.

S.Coups Anger Fans for Jumping During Stage Following Military Exemption

The S.Coups fan posted a video of the idol performing with SEVENTEEN.

Despite everything going smoothly, he caught the audience’s eye by effortlessly executing the demanding choreography, with jumps included, that their song typically entails.

After the video went viral on the internet, ARMYs, dedicated fans of BTS, swarmed to the clip, resulting in the quotes section being inundated with hurtful and spiteful remarks directed towards the idol.

It seems that the primary cause of their anger stems from the decision to exempt S.Coups from his military service. This was made after the army classified him as grade 5 due to his knee injury.

During filming in August of last year, he sustained an injury while playing a ball game. This resulted in a rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee joint, leading to his need for anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction surgery and anterolateral ligament reconstruction surgery.

It was clarified at the time that his recovery from surgery would require patience and that encouraging him to engage in physical activities could potentially jeopardize his well-being and ability to function.

Initially, ARMYs advocated for BTS to be exempted from military service, emphasizing their significant contributions to the nation. Although all members expressed their willingness to fulfill their duty when the time came, the fanbase persisted in their belief that the group should be granted exemption.

Despite dealing with a shoulder injury, Suga’s fans also acknowledged his dedication to serving as a social worker.

When S.Coups performed a jump during the concert, some ARMYs raised concerns about his medical records and criticized him as an “evader”and “coward”for being unable to do office work but still performing.

CARATs Defend SEVENTEEN S.Coups

Despite facing constant criticism, CARATs (fans of SEVENTEEN) remain steadfast in defending the idol and highlighting that S.Coups’ exemption from military service was not his own choice, but a decision made by the military.

Following his health exam, he was classified as a Grade 5 wartime worker due to his ACL, indicating that he will only be called upon during times of war for military support tasks.

Despite the fact that surgery is an option for treating ACL, the recovery period can last several months. However, this does not necessarily imply that he will be unable to engage in activities such as dancing and jumping.

Participating in these activities carries a significant level of risk for S.Coups, as they are vastly dissimilar from his military training. As a result, it would be unwise for him to partake in them as it could greatly jeopardize his health.

CARATs are upset with netizens who believe that it is an “accomplishment”for them, as the evaluation is actually more worrying for fans due to the health of the idol.

Upon viewing S.Coups’ recent videos, it is evident that he is being more cautious and restrained during his performances, indicating that his injury is still in the process of healing.
