Just like in real life, ships can be quite pricey in Sea of Thieves. However, after completing a few Voyages and activating emissaries, you should have enough funds to purchase the necessary ship.

However, the costs of each ship can still be found below:

  • Sloop: 250,000 Gold
  • Brigantine: 375,000 Gold
  • Galleon: 500,000 Gold

As mentioned before, it is recommended to purchase the ship that you will use the most. However, you also have the option to buy all three ships if you wish, as long as you have 1,125,000 Gold available.

In addition, it is possible to own multiple copies of the same ship, but you must first obtain the Legendary Ship Title for that specific type of ship. To do so, you must achieve Class 50 in all milestone categories for that particular ship. Once this is accomplished, you are able to purchase up to five of each ship type.

Customizing Your Ship in Sea of Thieves

Upon purchasing your personal ship, you will have the opportunity to personalize it by adding your desired design. Although you have the freedom to modify it at any time, this will prevent you from constantly having to visit the Shipwright whenever you want to customize your vessel in the game.

To personalize your vessel in Sea of Thieves, simply make your way to the Outposts Shipwright, who can typically be found near your docked ship. Once you’ve arrived, engage in conversation with the Shipwright and peruse their inventory, which offers a plethora of options ranging from trinkets and sails to captains’ decorations.

After buying the desired items (note that some may require challenges instead of monetary payment), proceed to unlock the nearby chest. This will allow you to customize your ship with the items you desire, making it truly your own.

Assuming the role of captain in Sea of Thieves opens up a plethora of fresh content for players to experience in the game:

  • Unlocks the Sovereign
  • Lets you customize and name your ship

The Sovereign Trading Company is a convenient service that distributes your loot to other Trading Companies. This allows you to easily drop off all your items in one location instead of having to travel to each company separately. However, this service is only available for ships with captains.

As mentioned earlier, being a captain grants you the ability to personalize your ship according to your preferences, from its external appearance to its decorations and your own captain’s quarters. These modifications can be made permanently, but at an additional cost. Prior to customizing, you must also come up with a name for your vessel .

In the captain’s quarters, you will find the Captain’s Log, which serves to record your voyages, crew, and ship history. However, this log is highly sought after by enemy ships due to its value to the Reapers.

As a captain, you will gain access to exciting new journeys. These journeys function as condensed versions of the standard trading company voyages and can be purchased at any Shipwright Shop. With a variety of quests to choose from, you can also store up to 50 of each on your ship for convenient plundering.
