Following an unannounced buff in Season 5, many now consider Moutaineer to be one of the strongest perks in Warzone.
Overall, the majority of Warzone players tend to utilize Irridated, Double Time, and Sleight of Hand as their first two perks. However, Mountaineer has recently become a popular choice in the discussion.
JGOD had already recognized the potential in the newly added perk in December 2023, and that only became even more evident.
With Mountaineer, the height requirement for fatal fall damage is nearly doubled to approximately 26 meters, compared to the standard 13 meters.
After the Season 5 update, IceManIsaac discovered that Mountaineer now prevents death from longer distances of 34 meters instead of the previous 26. This allows players to jump from heights that were previously considered impossible. Additionally, general fall damage has been reduced, allowing players to survive a 16-meter jump instead of the previous limit of 13 meters.
The Mountaineer perk is highly valuable in Warzone Season 5 due to its capability to facilitate safe descents from great heights during gunfights or while stealthily maneuvering behind enemy lines.
To complement Mountaineer, the best option for the remaining perk slot would be Double Time for extended tactical sprint duration and quicker refresh time, or Sleight of Hand for faster reload times on a slow weapon.
To determine the distance of a drop, players can use a ping on both PlayStation and Xbox by pressing and holding the D-pad while aiming their weapon towards the ground. On PC, they can use either the middle mouse button or the Alt key.
The ping feature provides an accurate measurement of the distance from the ground to the highest point of your jump. While it may be challenging to utilize during intense gameplay, players are encouraged to use it whenever possible to prevent unnecessary deaths.
After arranging all the perks, it is still necessary to determine which weapons to utilize.
