Despite fans’ enjoyment of the drama, romance, and fashion in Season 3 of Selling The O.C., the music seems to be lacking in popularity.
Similarly to its predecessor, Selling The O.C. does not feature an official theme song where all of the real estate agents gather and pose for a coordinated introduction.
Despite this, every episode is still packed with songs and each one features a unique soundtrack. Although fans initially accepted this format in the first few seasons, viewers of Season 3 are now expressing their dissatisfaction with it.
On May 4, followers of O.C. expressed their dissatisfaction with the music used in the show’s episodes on Reddit, describing them as “cringe”and “simply nauseating”.
A fan expressed their frustration by stating, “I am unable to tolerate the AI-generated, awkwardly overbearing, extremely loud, and boss-babe 2010 pop songs featured in this show.”
A different fan also added their opinion, stating, “We do not need it! Every moment is filled with this music. I would appreciate just a brief moment of silence.”
Similarly, Selling Sunset has also faced similar criticism, as viewers have pointed out that the songs all have a similar sound and never seem to match the volume of the episode.
Although Netflix has not yet made an official announcement about the approval of Season 4 for the O.C., it is hoped that if the season does go ahead, production will take into consideration the fans’ opinions on the music to avoid a decrease in viewership.
