Sengoku Youko Anime Part 2 Set to Premiere in Summer 2024

On June 12, 2024, the official X account for Sengoku Youko unveiled a new key visual for part 2 of the anime, along with the announcement of its release date in Summer 2024. Additionally, three more cast members were revealed to be joining the series in this part. The anime also confirmed that there will be a consecutive two arc airing, without any breaks, for part 2.

The anime adaptation of Sengoku Youko is based on the manga series of the same name, written and illustrated by Mizukami Satoshi. Serialization of the manga began in December 2007 and concluded in May 2016. The animation studio White Fox produced the anime adaptation of this popular manga.

Sengoku Youko: Part 2 Set to Premiere in July 2024

The main focus of the key visual was on Senya, a supporting character who will become one of the main protagonists in part 2. The visual also featured the newly introduced cast members: Mudo, Ashikaga Yoshiteru, and Hanatora. The tweet’s caption included the release date and announced which arc will be covered in this part.

The second installment of Sengoku Youko, episode 1, is scheduled for release on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, at 12 am JST. The episode will broadcast on various Japanese TV channels, including TOKYO MX, ABC TV, Nagoya TV, and other related channels.

The initial portion of the series was aired on Crunchyroll for viewers outside of Japan, indicating that the second part will also be available on this streaming platform. Parts 2 and 3 are scheduled to be shown without any interruption in between.

Announcement of New Cast and Staff Members

In part 2, we are introduced to a new cast member who plays the rival of the protagonist, Senya. Mudo, voiced by Yoshitsugu Matsuoka (known for his role as Inosuke Hashibira in Demon Slayer), is a key figure in the story. Along with Mudo, we also meet Ashikaga Yoshiteru, voiced by Hatano Wataru (known for his role as Haruta Shigemo in Jujutsu Kaisen), and the deity of the land, Hanatora, voiced by Shizuka Itou (known for her role as Teacher Irina in Assassination Classroom).

The staff members who worked on the previous installment of Sengoku Youko will be returning to animate part 2.

  • Jukki Hanada is the script composer (script composer for The Dangers in My Heart)
  • Evan Call is the music composer (music composer for Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End)

Sengoku Youko Synopsis

The first part of the anime series is a Shounen adaptation of The Reformation Siblings Edition arc from the manga series. It is set in a fantasy world where a magical species known as the Katawara exists. The main characters, Shinsuke, Tama, Jinka, and Shakuyaku, were introduced in this first part.

Ultimately, the trio joins forces to battle the monks’ attempts at creating Human-Katawara hybrids. As the series concludes, they are joined by Senya, a skilled demon hunter, who becomes a new member of the protagonist group as part 2 begins. The upcoming arc, Thousand Demons Chaos, will be adapted in the continuation of their journey.
