September 2024 One Piece Vivre Card Secrets Revealed

September 2024 One Piece Vivre Card Secrets Revealed

A reference guide designed to supplement the One Piece manga, Vivre Card primarily compiles commonly known information and minor details such as character heights and birthdays. Although author Eiichiro Oda does not personally oversee the creation of Vivre Card, he has acknowledged it as a trustworthy source of information.

Vivre Card has, in certain instances, revealed significant details well before Oda was able to disclose them in the manga. A prime example of this is the revelation of Gol D. Roger’s sword name and the true nature of “Big News”Morgans’ avian characteristics.

Despite occasionally sparking controversy for omitting crucial details that were already disclosed in the One Piece manga, this databook continues to be a valuable resource. In fact, a new edition of Vivre Card was recently released on September 4, 2024, offering insights into the backgrounds of various notable characters from the series.

Shanks, Mihawk, Ryokugyu, and Other Characters Featured in the Latest One Piece Vivre Card

Shanks

“Whenever there is a significant event in the One Piece universe, the presence of “Red Hair”Shanks is always felt, whether it be in a direct or indirect manner. As a former apprentice of Roger, Shanks formed his own crew known as the Red Hair Pirates and eventually gained the esteemed title of one of the Four Emperors. His reputation and admiration extends to all, even among the ranks of the Marines.”

Shanks, the mentor and role model of Monkey D. Luffy, the main protagonist of One Piece, is a skilled combatant. He possesses the strength to face formidable opponents such as Dracule Mihawk, the World’s Strongest Swordsman, on an even level.

Despite Shanks’ significant role in the series and his connections to Marshall D. Teach “Blackbeard”and Buggy, the latest Vivre Card does not provide any significant new information about him.

Despite briefly mentioning that Shanks’ alternate career choice would be landscape photography, Vivre Card primarily focused on his acquisition of the Human-Human Fruit Model: Nika, also known as the Gom-Gom Fruit, and his establishment of Windmill Village as his base in the East Blue 13 years prior to the current events in One Piece.

Shortly after, Shanks entrusted Luffy with the same straw hat that Roger had given him years prior. The databook also notes that Shanks had become an Emperor six years prior to the current events of One Piece, and four years after that, he grieved the loss of Whitebeard and Ace during the events at Marineford.

Shanks recently traveled to an undisclosed island to attend a wedding. Afterwards, he made his way to Wano and utilized his Conqueror’s Haki to intimidate Admiral Ryokugyu, causing the admiral to back down. Soon after, Shanks wielded his sword, Gryphon, to defeat Eustass Kid and his crew on Elbaf. With his entry into the race for the One Piece treasure, Shanks eagerly anticipates reuniting with Luffy.

Dracule Mihawk

From the start of One Piece, Dracule Mihawk has been established as Roronoa Zoro’s ultimate and most formidable adversary. Despite only revealing a fraction of his true abilities, it is evident that as the World’s Strongest Swordsman, “Hawk Eyes”is an exceptional combatant.

Similar to Shanks, the most recent Vivre Card did not uncover any groundbreaking or crucial information about Mihawk. The databook simply recounted his past actions of attacking the Marines in order to settle a personal vendetta, which earned him the title of “Marine Hunter.”It also noted that he continues to pose a threat to the Navy.

After the disbandment of the Seven Warlords of the Sea, Mihawk joined forces with Crocodile to establish the Cross Guild. However, when Buggy unintentionally took over as leader, Mihawk declined the opportunity to become one of the Four Emperors and instead remained as the symbolic head of the Cross Guild.

Despite Buggy’s claim to the One Piece, Mihawk was comically compelled to give up his desire for a peaceful and solitary life in order to join the frantic search for the fabled treasure.

Vivre Card did not include the Color of Conqueror in the section listing Mihawk’s Haki types. However, both Shanks, Mihawk’s greatest rival, and Zoro, his disciple and future challenger, possess the ability to use Advanced Conqueror’s Haki.

Zoro’s aspiration to become the World’s Strongest Swordsman is intricately tied to his possession of Conqueror’s Haki. As the current holder of the title, Mihawk is perceived as a ruler who reigns supreme, surpassing all other swordsmen in the One Piece universe.

Therefore, it is highly probable that Mihawk possesses both the basic and advanced versions of this game-changing ability. The official reveal of this information was not spoiled by the Vivre Card databook, as it was reserved for a significant moment in the manga.

Ryokugyu

During the two-year timeskip, Aramaki “Ryokugyu”rose to the rank of Navy Admiral as an avid advocate for the World Government. The recent Vivre Card reveals that he possesses a distinct mindset and greatly respects Fleet Admiral Sakazuki “Akainu” for his unyielding tactics.

Despite his extremist beliefs and worldviews, Ryokugyu continues to subdue his foes mercilessly using the powerful plant-based abilities of the Wood-Wood Fruit. It is worth noting that he has not consumed any food for over three years, as stated.

According to the Vivre Card, Ryokugyu’s personality is modeled after the actor Harada Yoshio. The databook also discloses that Ryokugyu is 41 years old, making him the youngest Admiral in One Piece. However, the databook does not mention anything about the nature of Ryokugyu’s sword as a Black Blade.

This topic is highly debated, as it seems unlikely that Ryokugyu could create a Black Blade while Shanks, who is much stronger, was unable to. However, it is also plausible that Ryokugyu did not personally blacken the sword, but rather acquired it through theft or another means.

While it would be peculiar for Ryokugyu to possess a Black Blade and not utilize it in his battle against Fujitora, a renowned swordsman, or mention it during his visit to Wano, a land known for its skilled swordsmen, it is not impossible.

Even now, there is no information available about Ryokugyu’s sword or his skill with it, leaving it a topic of speculation. Regardless, if Ryokugyu does possess a Black Blade, it is more likely that it will be revealed in the manga rather than in the Vivre Card databook.

Yamato

Despite being the self-proclaimed son of Kaido, Yamato surprised everyone by choosing to join Luffy’s side during the Onigashima Raid. The latest Vivre Card has finally acknowledged Yamato as a Conqueror’s Haki user, correcting the previous release which had omitted this information. This update confirms that Yamato does indeed possess the Color of Conqueror, a mistake that was previously made.

Despite much speculation, the identity of Yamato’s mother was never officially confirmed in One Piece. The Vivre Card states that Yamato’s origins are “unclear”, adding to the intrigue. According to the databook, it was rumored that Kurozumi Higurashi, the woman who orchestrated the downfall of Kozuki Oden and aided Orochi’s rise to shogun, was the mother of Yamato, conceived with Kaido.

After Kaido killed Higurashi for interrupting his battle with Oden, it was discovered through the Vivre Card that 28 years prior, Higurashi had plotted with Orochi and Kaido to take over Wano. Interestingly, this aligns with the fact that Yamato, who is 28 years old, may be Higurashi’s child. This revelation may explain why Yamato shares the same horned head as Kaido, but has inherited Higurashi’s white hair instead. It is certainly a surprising revelation, but it offers a plausible explanation for Yamato’s appearance.

King

King “The Wildfire”was handpicked by Kaido to be his right-hand man due to his exceptional natural-born Lunarian abilities, a few years prior to the current events in the One Piece story. Throughout his time as Kaido’s most trusted and powerful subordinate, King remained fiercely devoted to the Emperor until his eventual downfall.

Roronoa Zoro emerged victorious in the Onigashima Raid, after delivering a powerful strike infused with Conqueror’s Haki, defeating King. It was recently disclosed in One Piece that King’s DNA played a crucial role in augmenting the Seraphim cyborgs, equipping them with god-like abilities akin to those possessed by the Lunarians.

In chapter 1121, it was shown that King was listening to Dr Vegapunk’s global broadcast. According to the Vivre Card, King’s hobby is collecting swords. It is possible that in the past, he acquired swords from the Beasts Pirates’ opponents to add to his collection.

Queen

“Queen, also known as “The Plague”for his lethal viruses, was a member of the MADS research team alongside Vinsmoke Judge, Vegapunk, and Caesar Clown. When Kaido invited him to join the Beasts Pirates, Queen accepted and became one of the crew’s All Stars.”

During the Onigashima Raid, the Queen utilized his Ancient Zoan abilities and advanced weaponry to overpower Sanji. However, he was ultimately defeated when Sanji unlocked his body’s genetic enhancements. According to the most recent Vivre Card, the Queen is actually named Scien and there are speculations that he could be Franky’s father.

It was recently revealed by Vivre Card that exactly 36 years ago, Queen had a child with an unknown woman whom he later abandoned after ten years. Interestingly, this child is none other than Franky, who is now 36 years old and was also abandoned by his parents at the age of ten.

It may seem absurd, but it is not entirely impossible for Queen to be Franky’s father. The timeline matches up and they share several similarities. Queen has a humorous demeanor and often becomes flustered, even striking himself with his own attacks. Similarly, Franky has a recurring gag of bursting into tears when he hears a heartfelt tale.

Queen consumed the Zoan of the Brachiosaurus, while Franky constructed a vehicle called the Brachio Tank. Notably, both individuals have a passion for music and striking poses. Interestingly enough, Eiichiro Oda featured Franky on the cover of volume 39 and Queen on the cover of volume 93, depicting them in identical poses.

The coincidences are undeniably remarkable. The ship where a 10-year-old Franky was discovered bears a striking resemblance to the old ship of Queen’s MADS group. It is surprising that this significant detail was not mentioned in the manga, considering that both Queen and Franky were part of the Onigashima Raid, yet never had a personal interaction.

Shimotsuki Ushimaru

Despite his honorable and selfless nature, Shimotsuki Ushimaru was unable to prevent Kaido and Orochi from taking over as the last daimyo of Ringo. He valiantly fought against Kaido and ultimately lost his life. Ushimaru was related to Zoro through his direct descent from the legendary “Sword God”Ryuma, making him Zoro’s great uncle. This familial connection solidifies the bond between Ryuma and Zoro.

Despite being outmatched by Kaido, Ushimaru possessed exceptional fighting skills and was able to imbue his swords with Armament Haki to increase their strength. The Vivre Card further verified that Ushimaru was proficient in both Armament and Observation Haki, and that his companions Uzuki Tempura and Fugetsu Omusubi were also skilled in the use of Haki.

Additional Characters

Bepo (Image via Toei Animation)

The latest Vivre Card provided new insights or validated existing information about Bepo, Guernica, and Donquixote Mjosgard, who serves as the navigator and second strongest member of the Heart Pirates. Bepo, a polar bear Mink, may seem soft and cuddly, but his formidable fighting abilities are often underestimated by others.

Despite not being seen as a major threat by the World Government, Bepo’s bounty was initially set at a low amount, similar to Chopper’s. Interestingly, according to the latest Vivre Card, his bounty has now been raised from 500 to 1500 Berries.

The data book further verified the death of Guernica. As a top CP0 operative, the Five Elders had tasked him with eliminating Luffy. However, he was ultimately killed by Kaido for getting involved in the battle against the young pirate. Despite knowing his fate, the 42-year-old agent bravely faced Kaido’s wrath without showing any fear or hesitation.

Despite being mortally injured, Guernica ultimately succumbed to his wounds after bravely taking and revealing a photograph of Luffy’s Gear 5 transformation. Similarly, Saint Donquixote Mjosgard, one of the rare benevolent Celestial Dragons, met his demise. He had been accused of aiding Sai and Leo in safeguarding Shirahoshi from the wrath of Saint Charlos, and it has since been confirmed that he perished during the punishment inflicted upon him by Saint Figarland Garling.
