What Are Raid Battles in Pokemon Go?
Engaging in Raid Battles provides the opportunity to capture rare Pokemon.
Raid Battles occur when a Boss Pokemon occupies a Gym. Players can identify these Raids by observing local Gyms and searching for eggs nearing hatching or Boss Pokemon involved in active Raids.
These Pokemon are formidable, so teaming up with fellow trainers is advisable for a successful battle. There are four tiers: 1-Star, 3-Star, 5-Star, and Mega Raids. Higher tiers signify tougher battles.
The effort invested in completing Raid Battles is worthwhile, as players earn special items and have the chance to catch defeated Pokemon, including Legendaries from 5-Star Raids that are otherwise unavailable.
How to Get Raid Passes in Pokemon Go
Raid Passes are necessary for participating in Raids.
To take part in a Raid Battle, a Raid Pass is required. You can earn one Raid Pass daily by spinning the Photo Disc at any Gym. Premium Raid Passes are available for purchase in the Shop if you run out.
Remote Raid Passes are also an option in Pokemon Go, enabling trainers to join any Raid Battle displayed on their Nearby screen or Map View, ideal for players unable to leave their homes.
Remote Raid Passes can be purchased from the Shop or occasionally received as free gifts.
How to Catch Pokemon in Raid Battles
Premier Balls are used to catch Legendary Pokemon.
Upon successfully defeating a Raid Boss, players will have the opportunity to catch it, provided a set number of Premier Balls. However, catching a Legendary Pokemon is not guaranteed due to their low catch rates.
To increase your count of Premier Balls, you can:
- Deal a high amount of damage to the Raid boss.
- Your team deals a high amount of damage to the Raid boss.
- Control the Gym where the Raid occurs.
- Participate in Raids with friends.
Additionally, using Razz Berries, especially Golden Razz Berries, can aid in catching Raid bosses, along with making excellent throws or spinning curveballs to improve your chances.
Now that you’re informed about Raids and the Pokemon available to battle this month, get out there and catch some Pokemon – perhaps even a Legendary. Good luck, trainers!
That’s all the essential details about the current Pokemon Go Raid Bosses.
