Recent reports from Sports Kyunghyang reveal that Seungri, the former member of the popular K-Pop group BIGBANG, has been spotted frequently in restaurants and bars located in Seoul’s Gangnam District. Dressed in casual attire and often accompanied by friends, he seems to enjoy low-key gatherings, taking time to savor drinks in serene corners of these establishments.
An unnamed insider shared insights on his routine, stating, “Seungri visits the pub at least twice a week. He drinks quietly before leaving without causing a stir.” This calm demeanor contrasts sharply with his past controversies.
Following his controversial exit from the entertainment industry due to the infamous Burning Sun scandal, Seungri was initially observed indulging in a more carefree lifestyle across Southeast Asia, including notable appearances in Cambodia. Notably, he was heard exuberantly declaring in a Cambodian club, “I’ll bring G-Dragon here!” which certainly caught the attention of fans and the media alike. His antics continue to create buzz.
In his most recent public appearances, Seungri was photographed in Hong Kong, enjoying the presence of several women. This comment points to a notable shift in his social interactions after his previous scandals.
Additionally, Seungri has reportedly been engaging in meetings with international investors across Southeast Asia. Recent images depict him in formal wear, sporting glasses and exhibiting noticeable weight gain. Among the notable investors he met was Jacob Arabo, the creator of a renowned Swiss luxury watch brand.
Reflecting on his tumultuous past, Seungri was a pivotal figure in the Burning Sun scandal back in 2019, which ultimately led to his exit from BIGBANG. At the time, while fulfilling his military duties, he faced a military court trial that concluded with a sentence of one year and six months. Subsequently, he was transferred to a civilian prison in Yeoju, where he completed his punishment, eventually released in February of the previous year.
The range of charges against him was significant, encompassing habitual gambling, the facilitation of prostitution, violation of sexual crime laws, foreign exchange regulations, food safety standards, embezzlement, and incitement to special assault.
