Following the 2019 Burning Sun Scandal, former BIGBANG member Seungri faced a trial on 9 counts including prostitution, prostitution mediation, embezzlement, and habitual gambling. After serving his prison sentence, Seungri has since been released and is now directing his attention towards his business ventures.
Recently, a documentary by BBC was released that thoroughly explored the Burning Sun Scandal. As a result, netizens resumed their harsh criticism of Seungri’s wrongdoings.
Despite the negative public perception of him, Seungri continued to attract attention as more witnesses came forward to report his clubbing activities.
On August 8th, an event organizer in Indonesia revealed their plans for a new clubbing event featuring Seungri. The two posters they released hinted at a K-pop themed night with Seungri as the main attraction.

The event’s name, “Burning Sun Surabaya”, caught the attention of netizens as it brought to mind the infamous Burning Sun Club owned by Seungri in the past. This club was at the center of the Burning Sun Scandal, where numerous crimes were uncovered.
The event “Buring Sun Surabaya”showcasing Seungri is set to take place on August 31st.
