At his most recent show appearance, SEVENTEEN’s Seungkwan surprised everyone by revealing the number of contacts saved on his phone.
On May 10, Hyeri, a member of Girl’s Day, released the 13th episode of her YouTube series, “Hyell’s Club.”During the episode, she invited SEVENTEEN’s Seungkwan as a guest and served up cocktails and snacks while they had a comfortable conversation.
During the show, Hyeri described Seungkwan as an “inssah,”which is a term for someone who is an insider and is well-informed about current trends. This person is also typically outgoing and constantly learning about new things. In addition, being an inssah often means being popular or highly sociable.
Hyeri inquired about Seungkwan’s number of contacts on his phone, pointing out that despite being an inssah, she herself doesn’t have a large number of contacts on her phone. She mentioned that this was a question that his fans, the CARATs, had been curious about.
After the idols agreed, they proceeded to check their phones to tally the number of contacts they had. Out of the two, Seungkwan was the first to respond, and his reply left the entire set in disbelief.
Seungkwan’s phone contains a whopping 802 contacts!
Upon hearing the number, Hyeri was taken aback and let out a gasp before quickly covering her mouth. In contrast, Seungkwan seemed unfazed and even inquired, “Is that considered a large number?”However, he acknowledged that there were several contacts he had lost touch with.

Prior to disclosing her contact count to others, Hyeri first showed it to Seungkwan. The SEVENTEEN member’s reaction was one of surprise as he questioned if Hyeri was someone who easily cuts people off. In response, Hyeri disclosed that she currently has 214 contacts saved in her phone.
Shortly after the episode was released, a popular post titled “Boo Seungkwan and His 802 Contacts”appeared on the popular South Korean online forum, Instiz.
Korean netizens pointed out that his extensive network can be attributed to his profession. As part of his job, he regularly communicates with producers, editors, composers, and others to secure new projects. This is often seen as a key factor in maintaining a successful and enduring career.
Despite this, the significant amount still caught many off guard. Some even playfully remarked that they only had a few contacts in comparison, teasing that Seungkwan had ten times the amount of people in his phone.

- “Seriously, he is a total inssah. I am such an assah (outsider) that if I deleted my family members, I only have one contact.”
- “He is a real inssah… I only have 100 people.”
- “I thought ‘That’s a f*cking lot’ but then I checked my phone and saw I had 500 contacts. I need to delete those useless contacts.”
- “It’s because Seungkwan’s job is all about meeting new people. Producers, composers, editors… Seungkwan needs to keep in contact with them if he wants a long-lasting career.”
- “Wow, 800… I have 80, so Seungkwan has ten times more than me. Impressive.”
