Pledis Entertainment, the agency of boy band SEVENTEEN, announced today that SEVENTEEN will attend the 13th UNESCO Youth Forum held at the UNESCO Headquarters in Paris, France at 7:00 pm (local time) on November 14th at a special branch venue 1 hour of lecture and performance.
The forum is held every 2 years in conjunction with the UNESCO General Conference. Through this forum, youth representatives from various countries can share their opinions and experiences on the problems faced by young people and find solutions.
This is the first time that a K-POP singer has been assigned the entire venue at a UNESCO General Conference level event. Pledis believes that this means that SEVENTEEN has surpassed the K-POP fan group and become an idol representing youth.
SEVENTEEN was scheduled to deliver the speech in the main hall, one of the largest and historic spaces at UNESCO Headquarters.
SEVENTEEN plans to convey the message that “unity and education among youth will change the future of youth and the planet”in the forum speech. Members will also propose, based on personal experience, the role that young people can play in achieving sustainable development.
Since their debut in 2015, SEVENTEEN has expressed the contradictions and confusion of youth through songs, conveying a positive message that “rather than being pessimistic and depressed, it is better to keep fighting and win”, and has gradually grown into a representative with annual album sales exceeding 10 million copies. Sexual K-POP singer.
The agency said, “More than 70 years ago, through the education support of UNESCO, Korean cultural and artistic people sprouted the seeds of hope for reconstruction in the ruins of war, and now they are delivering the hope brought by unity and education to young people around the world. Information, this is also a very meaningful thing.”
“SEVENTEEN continues to expand its influence not only as a singer but also as a global spokesperson representing the younger generation, solidifying the status and position of K-POP’s top group.”
Prior to this speech, Pledis also signed a tripartite working agreement with UNESCO Headquarters and the Korean Commission for UNESCO. This agreement is part of the global expansion of the educational campaign “Going Together”signed between Pledis and the Korean Commission for UNESCO in August last year.
