During a recent episode of SEVENTEEN’s regular content “Going Seventeen”, Mingyu, a member of the group, was questioned about what he had given his parents for Parents’ Day. He disclosed that he had gifted them with money.
Upon being questioned about the sum, Mingyu gestured that it equated to 500 million won (approximately 362,000 USD). This revelation left fellow SEVENTEEN member DK in disbelief, prompting him to jokingly inquire, “Can I adopt you as my child?”
Despite earning like an idol, 500 million won is still considered a substantial amount of money in Korea, enough to purchase an apartment.

In fact, some fans noted that Mingyu gave his parents more money than YG Entertainment earned in the last quarter, which was only 300 million won (approximately 217,000 USD).
At the same time, it was noted that BLACKPINK’s Rosé had worn jewelry worth more than YG’s profits in the past, causing a stir.
