Recent swirling rumors about a romantic link between Laura Harrier and Shameik Moore have prompted Harrier to request that the actor remove a post featuring her. The controversy began when Moore shared an old video of the two together on his social media, accompanied by a Spider emoji, hinting at a connection to the Spider-Man franchise.
In response to a TikTok comment suggesting she might be “settling” for Moore, Harrier clarified her relationship status, stating, “I’m literally engaged. I don’t know why that man is posting me lmao.” Her comment also indicated her discomfort with the implication that there was something more than friendship between them.
Harrier later elaborated on the situation in a follow-up video posted on her TikTok account. In the video, she disclosed that she had reached out to Moore, asking him to remove the post because it misrepresented their relationship.
She expressed, “I never talk on this thing… I’m a really private person, so I don’t really like to talk about relationships publicly or anything personal publicly, to be honest.” Harrier detailed that the video shared by Moore was taken at a party over a year ago when they posed for photos at a friend’s behest, baffled by its sudden resurfacing.
In her communication with Moore, she stated, “Hey can you take this down? I’m not sure why you would post that. Also, I am literally getting married and I don’t like this insinuation that there’s something going on between us if that was your intention.” Her frustration was evident as she added, “It’s still up, which is f***ing weird, you’re a f***ing weirdo. I’m sorry you’re a f***ing weirdo and I’m annoyed.”

In the aftermath of the controversy, Shameik Moore has taken steps to remove the video from all his social media platforms, including TikTok, Instagram, and Twitter, following the quick spread of Harrier’s video addressing the issue. Acknowledging the misunderstanding, Moore released his own video, indicating that he meant no harm and called the situation “fan-fiction.”
Moore clarified, “That’s it, It wasn’t insinuating any relationship. I apologize for the misunderstanding I do,” attempting to calm the speculation surrounding their connection.
