Despite being accused by his former girlfriend and influencer, Seo Eun Woo (formerly Seo Min Jae), of dating violence and revenge porn, former idol and singer Nam Taehyun has spoken out and addressed the allegations.
On July 10, Nam responded to the accusations through an Instagram post in which he refuted them in detail. He asserted that Seo had misrepresented events and failed to acknowledge her own mistakes.
“It’s unfortunate that she only mentioned my mistakes, ignoring the context and excluding her own flaws.”- Nam Taehyun
Nam clarified that the events were “private issues that took place between intimate partners 2-3 years ago,”stressing that they were common disagreements between couples that never resulted in any physical harm. He also shared his hesitation to disclose more information about their previous relationship to the public.
“I don’t know what else she would write about our difficult past from her own perspective, but I will not be making any revelations or responses about my relationship with her. I’m full of regret and reflection, enduring life day by day. And I believe that holding myself back is also a step toward betterment.”- Nam Taehyun
Nam’s final statement in his post was a sincere wish for Seo to find happiness and peace. His words came after Seo Eun Woo made accusations against him, claiming he had threatened her with revenge porn. This is not the first time Seo has accused Nam, as in 2022 she had also accused him of drug abuse and assault, prompting police investigations.
Both Seo and Nam were found guilty of violating the Narcotic Control Act and were sentenced to prison with probation. Seo received a 10-month sentence with a two-year probation, while Nam received a one-year sentence with two years of probation.
In addition, Lee Jin Ho, a reporter, disclosed the supposed true cause of Nam Tae Hyun’s exit from WINNER and YG Entertainment amidst rumors of drug use.
Despite Nam Tae Hyun’s claim that he left due to psychological health issues, Lee argued that he was actually dismissed from YG due to his intolerable behavior.
Allegations were made against Nam Tae Hyun, accusing him of bringing his girlfriend, Seo Min Jae, to WINNER’s accommodation and of having a difficult personality. After leaving the group, Nam Tae Hyun was embroiled in several controversies, including accusations of drug use and physical abuse from Seo Min Jae, which she later recanted.
