By using the Ruins of Qara Yisu Waypoint and heading northeast, you can easily locate the Shifting City location.

How to complete Shifting City Dungeon in Diablo 4

  • Return miscellaneous items to the pedestal
  • Collect Animus and deposit it in the Animus Urn
  • Beat the boss

Return an item to the pedestal

The initial goal you must achieve in this dungeon is to locate particular items and bring them back to their respective pedestals.

The objects that must be located include an Ancients Statue, Bloodstones, Mechanical Box, or Stone Carving. Although the specific items may vary upon entering the dungeon, the procedure for completing the task remains the same.

Your map will display objective indicators for both the items you need to locate and the pedestals. However, due to the rule of only being able to carry one item at a time, completing this objective may require multiple trips.

You need to collect items and return them to the pedestal for the first objective.

Objective 2: Collect Animus from Animus Carriers

The second task will require you to gather Animus from Elite mobs until the progress bar on your interface is complete. When the bar is full, you will need to place the collected Animus into the designated Animus Urn, which will be indicated on your map.

The Elites that release the Animus will be indicated on your map with small skulls. Therefore, proceed in that direction to defeat them and obtain the necessary items.

Objective 3: Defeat the boss

In order to successfully finish the Shifting City Dungeon, you must defeat the Tomb Lord. This powerful foe is known for their ability to raise armies of the undead and possesses multiple attacks that you must be prepared for.

  • Spirit Tornado: Slow moving tornadoes that blind you when you step inside one.
  • Undead Reinforcements: Summons an army of the undead.
  • Bone Wall: Creates a bone wall that blocks you from moving.
  • After casting, any remaining Bone Walls will detonate in an explosion.

Avoiding the Bone Walls and Tornadoes is the most effective strategy to defeat the Tomb Lord. Utilizing Stagger mechanics to prevent them from casting is crucial. In the event that you become trapped in a Bone Wall, it is essential to destroy as many as possible before the boss finishes casting, preventing them from exploding.
