SHINee Taemin Reveals Group’s Plan to Honor Late Jonghyun

During a broadcast, Taemin proudly reiterated that “SHINee is five”while discussing their plan to honor the late Jonghyun.

On May 19, the “Ace of K-pop”went live on Instagram to connect with his fans, particularly the Shawols (fandom).

At the beginning of the livestream, Taemin expressed his interest in getting a nail polish on one of his fingers. He humorously mentioned that he needed to consult with his fellow members beforehand as he was aware that not all of them may approve of it.

Just at that moment, he subtly mentioned that there was good news to come, revealing that SHINee had plans to obtain matching rings to represent their close bond.

“I plan to match rings with the members. None of our members wear rings on a daily basis, but we asked to match friendship rings, so this is taking shape.”

He also disclosed that he had previously proposed this idea to the other members, who all agreed. Minho even voiced his concern about which finger they should wear it on.

The singer of “Guilty”also stated:

“I think we’ll probably put them together after the performance. Minho hyung also asked, ‘Which finger should the rings fit on?’ We each want to wear that. Let’s wear it.”

Taemin then playfully proposed placing it on their fourth finger, also known as the ring finger, teasing that they had even released a song titled “Marry You.”

He went on to say:

“It doesn’t matter to put it on the right hand, right? We will all put together (friendship rings) and show off. Are you jealous? Like this.”

Despite already being heartwarming for Shawols, Taemin’s actions truly demonstrated the loyalty of SHINee members to the group. He emphasized their plans to continue honoring the late Jonghyun.

“Other groups are doing it so we are already trying to do it as well, our Jonghyun hyung will be in it as well so there are five. I think it would be more meaningful.”

Initially, SHINee was formed with five members – Onew, Jonghyun, Key, Minho, and Taemin. Tragically, on December 18, 2017, Jonghyun passed away and became an honorary member of the group as an angel.

Despite SHINee regrouping as a quartet, they made sure to honor Jonghyun and reaffirmed that they will always be a five-member group.

After Taemin’s recent move to Big Planet Made Entertainment, Onew also decided to transfer to a new label, Griffin Entertainment. Meanwhile, Key and Minho have stayed with their original agency, SM Entertainment.

Despite this, they remained loyal to one another even after being separated into different agencies, maintaining their group activities and close relationships.
