The new Thai drama, Master of the House, is causing a stir on the streamer’s worldwide rankings.

As the younger generation would put it, Netflix has been thriving with its recent addition of non-English language TV shows. While Pact of Silence and Desperate Lies have been performing well in the past few weeks, the streaming service’s newest hit comes from an unexpected source.

A wealthy tycoon’s sudden death in his extravagant mansion sets the stage for the seven-episode Thai drama, Master of the House. The inheritance of his multi-billion-baht fortune becomes the subject of a fierce dispute between his heirs and the housekeeper he had recently married.

The drama has taken center stage since its release on July 18, with Netflix users from around the globe eagerly watching it.

A fan on X/Twitter urged others to watch #MasterOfTheHouse on Netflix, stating that it is an iconic Thai series that will not disappoint. They also requested that viewers share their thoughts after finishing it.

Another person shared their thoughts, stating, “I found Master of the House on Netflix to be extremely unsettling. The mistreatment of the staff by these individuals angers me greatly. I’m tempted to throw something at the TV, but I don’t want to damage it.”

“Adding to the praise, a third fan expressed their admiration for Master of the House on Netflix, noting that while it may be upsetting, it is still a fantastic watch.”

A fourth person reflected, “I recently finished watching Master of the House on Netflix and it’s a great show. It’s been two days and I’m still processing all of the craziness that happened.”

According to its creators, the binge-worthy TV show draws heavily from real-life culture and has not been adapted from an existing story.

Director Sivaroj Kongsakul informed Netflix that the central concept of this series centers on our capacity to handle power and greed, and the potential for it to unknowingly harm others. If not controlled, it has the potential to destroy relationships, families, communities, and even entire countries.

“How can we manage these urges? Do we fully understand the potential harm we may cause in our pursuit of success? This element adds to the show’s appeal and provokes introspection among viewers about these concerns.”

All seven episodes of Master of the House are currently available for streaming on Netflix.

To avoid more emotionally charged programs on Netflix, be sure to browse for the latest updates on Virgin River Season 6, Heartstopper Season 3, and Emily in Paris Season 4. Additionally, there are several new TV shows available for streaming this month.
