Recap of Shoshimin Episode 6
The episode, titled But I Get To Keep Charlotte, opened with Jogoro strolling through a festival, where he was suddenly halted by a traditionally dressed Yuki. They both immersed themselves in the festival, experiencing it like any other ordinary person would, admiring the sights and indulging in cotton candy.
The next day, the scene shifted to Yuki standing at Jogoro’s door. She presented him with a map indicating all the confectionary shops she planned to visit over the summer. In the following scene, Jogoro could be seen sweating heavily as he rode his bicycle.
At that moment, a text message from Yuki appeared on his phone. She had asked for Jogoro’s help in getting some sweets from a specific store, as she was unable to leave her home due to an unexpected situation. Jogoro fulfilled her request and brought the sweets to Yuki’s place. However, as she was about to enjoy them, she received a phone call and excused herself to her room, leaving Jogoro sitting alone at the table.
After waiting patiently, Jogoro finally took a bite of the Charlotte pastry and was immediately ecstatic. He savored every second of it and, thoroughly enjoying its taste, started thinking of a plan to make it appear that there were only two Charlotte pastries. He had to come up with a solution fast to make it impossible for anyone to count the number of pastries in the cup holders.
With everything in place and his second Charlotte eaten, Jogoro acted as if nothing had happened when Yuki returned and started eating. Although she had considered all the evidence, she had not taken into account the napkins that accompanied the 3 Charlottes. Jogoro, visibly anxious, attempted to steer their conversation towards the origins of the dessert. After a brief exchange, Yuki admitted that she had figured out his plan.
Yuki couldn’t understand why Jogoro would attempt to trick her, but she was grateful that he agreed to accompany her to all the shops she had listed. As he was preparing to leave, she shared her reasoning for determining the number of Charlotte pastries they needed – she had noticed Jogoro using a handkerchief to wipe his face when he arrived, but later he used a tissue, indicating that the handkerchief was now unusable due to being soiled by the Charlotte’s Bavarian cream.
What to expect from Shoshimin episode 7? (speculative)
The upcoming episode 7 of Shoshimin will continue the second installment of the current arc, which was introduced in episode 6. This arc is referred to as the “Kaki Gentei Tropical Parfait Jiken”(“Case of the Summer-Exclusive Tropical Parfait”) Arc.
