Should EXO Consider a Comeback Without Chen, Baekhyun, Xiumin? K-Netz Weigh in on Group Synergy

Despite the ongoing legal dispute between EXO-CBX (Chen, Baekhyun, and Xiumin) and SM Entertainment, there is currently a discussion among Korean netizens about the possibility of the group returning without the involvement of the three members.

On June 27, 2024, a post titled “Male idol group that remains stable despite seven out of 12 members leaving”was shared on TheQoo, a popular online forum in South Korea.

The post mentions the EXO members who are currently under SM Entertainment and have maintained positive relationships with the agency. Their positions are also listed in the following list:

• Suho – Leader, lead vocalist
• D.O – Main vocal
• Kai – Main dancer, center
• Chanyeol – Main rapper
• Sehun – Lead dancer, lead rapper, maknae

Despite the absence of most of the members, the crucial positions within the group such as the leader, maknae, main vocal, lead vocal, main dancer, main rapper, and lead rapper, remain intact. This ensures that their performance would not be affected by the reduced number of members.

When Korean netizens came across the post, they expressed their hopes for EXO to make a comeback with this exact line-up. It was observed that this was essentially the original line-up of EXO-K, with the exception of Baekhyun. Thus, this line-up is familiar to the Korean netizens.

Some also pointed out the remarkable fact that there is no vacancy in positions, despite the absence of several members from the line-up.
