Popular Twitch streamer Shroud has unveiled a special event titled the “Fragathon,”a month-long subathon aimed at raising funds for charity in memory of his father, who succumbed to cancer last year. This charity stream kicks off in January 2024 and promises to intertwine gaming with philanthropy.
Shroud announced this initiative through a heartfelt message on his Twitter/X account on January 3, 2024. He expressed his personal motivation behind the Fragathon, stating, “Last year I lost my dad to cancer and ever since I have been looking for ways I can support people who are going through similar situations. So, we came up with the Fragathon.”
The concept of the Fragathon is straightforward yet impactful. For every elimination recorded during his streams, Shroud will donate one dollar to charity. Additionally, subscribers and donors can enhance this initiative by increasing the frag value, leading to a multiplier effect for each frag.
Furthermore, every dollar from subscriptions, donations, and bits will contribute directly to worthy charitable organizations, ensuring that viewers not only enjoy the content but also make a difference through their support. Shroud elaborated, “I won’t be alone. I am inviting all my friends to come by and donate frags in person at a LAN center that I am building in my house.” He also hinted at real-life events and challenges that will add to the frag count, though he hasn’t yet revealed the names of the participating creators and streamers.

How to Join the Fragathon Stream
To participate in Shroud’s charitable Fragathon, be sure to tune in on his Twitch channel starting January 4, 2024. Exact streaming times have yet to be disclosed, but Shroud indicated in his updates that viewers should pay attention to his social media for announcements.
While discussing the upcoming event during a recent Twitch stream on January 1, Shroud mentioned that the Fragathon’s start had been delayed due to production challenges. “The plan was to start the marathon stream tomorrow for the new year, but we had some delays.
