Popular streamer Michael ‘shroud’ Grzesiek has released his highly anticipated tactical shooter, Spectre Divide. The game has already shown promise with a strong player count, despite a few hiccups, just 24 hours after its release.
Given his background as a professional player in both Valorant and CS:GO, and his current success as a popular streamer, it is clear that shroud has a thorough understanding of what players desire in a tactical multiplayer shooter. As a result, there has been a great deal of anticipation surrounding the launch of Spectre Divide among his fans and beyond.
The game’s release on September 3 was met with great success, as evidenced by the impressive 30,000 player count on Steam. This is a promising sign for Spectre Divides’ future, especially considering other similar games like Concord have struggled to attract an audience. While not a groundbreaking achievement, it showcases the potential of the game.
Spectre Divide Reaches 30,000 Players Despite Server Issues
Spectre Divide’s player count is showing a promising start for the shooter.
Despite the numerous server issues, bugs, and widespread player frustration, the 30,000 player count remains incredibly impressive.
Within just nine hours of the game’s initial launch, Mountaintop Studios, the developer, made the decision to take the game offline in order to address several crucial bugs and glitches that had been discovered upon its release. Although the downtime was luckily limited to only two hours, this inevitably had an effect on the overall number of players within the first 24 hours.
At 5PM PT, we’ll be bringing down the servers to deploy a fix that should help with matchmaking (and a few other issues). You’ll be able to finish any matches in-progress, and then you’ll be returned to the Main Menu. Thanks for bearing with us. We’ll let you know as soon as… https://t.co/fO15q2lUG1

In addition, controversy and dissatisfaction arose quickly when players criticized the cost of the skins for weapons and characters. In response to this outcry, Spectre Divide promptly addressed the issue on their X account and announced plans to lower prices and provide refunds to affected individuals.
Despite the server problems and player dissatisfaction, the Steam player count has remained consistently above 10,000 on the second day of its release (September 4). This demonstrates that there is still a dedicated fanbase enjoying the new shooter game.
