When Project Rene was unveiled in October 2022, many fans speculated that it could be The Sims 5. However, since then, detailed information has been scarce, mostly relying on unofficial rumors.
Recently, EA clarified that Project Rene is not, in fact, The Sims 5. Rather, it promises a distinct experience where players can “meet, connect, and share while playing together in an all-new world”with their friends.
How to Sign Up for The Sims Project Rene Playtest
According to EA, Project Rene will allow you to engage in multiplayer sessions with friends.
Players interested in participating in the Project Rene Playtest need to first join The Sims Labs. Please note that EA has indicated this will be a “small-invite only”Playtest, set to launch in Fall 2024.
While there’s no guarantee of securing a spot in the Playtest, you can potentially enhance your chances by following these steps:
- Visit the Electronic Arts Playtesting website.
- Log in with your EA account or create a new one if necessary.
- Agree to all terms and conditions by checking the boxes provided.
- Click on Get Started.
- Complete a brief poll.
- Select The Sims Labs Insider Playtesting Signup from the Playtests in Progress section.
- Fill out all the required questions in the form.
Once you’ve completed the questionnaire, click Next, and you will be redirected to the homepage. The difference now is that you should see an option to enhance your selection chances under News and Updates.
Select the Update your Playtesting Preferences option, which will take you to your profile page. Here, you can input additional details, including your preferences and preferred time zone. After hitting Update, all that remains is to wait for further notifications.
