However, the recent update on November 4 has provided some much-needed improvements, streamlining the process for esports organizations.
Upcoming CDL Season and Current Scrimmages
As the gaming community anticipates the commencement of the 2025 CDL season around December, many teams have already started engaging in practice scrimmages and participating in pre-season tournaments. Challenges in Competitive Balance
Despite the positive strides, the initial reception regarding the current state of play has been mixed among professional players. Weapon Adjustments and Map Expansions
In terms of weapon balancing, flashbang grenades have seen their duration reduced by 20%, effectively preventing potential bans due to being overpowered. Additionally, Treyarch revised the minimum damage ranges for certain weapons and decreased headshot multipliers, while simultaneously buffing SMGs to enhance their viability in mid-range encounters.
These adjustments aim to create a more balanced competitive environment, allowing SMG specialists a fairer chance against AR users. To further enrich the competitive map pool, the development team has confirmed that Season 1 will introduce three new maps at launch, with the promise of additional maps to be unveiled later in the season.
