Simone Biles is widely recognized as the most decorated US gymnast, however, her former Olympic teammate MyKayla Skinner recently took a jab at her by commenting on the competitors who will be joining her in the 2024 Paris Olympics.
MyKayla Skinner, who won silver during the 2020 Olympics, criticized Simone Biles and her current Olympic teammates in a now-deleted YouTube video.
“She stated that, other than Simone, the talent and depth do not seem to be on par with what it once was.”
“She pointed out that many girls do not work as diligently as others, stating, “I have noticed that not all girls possess the same level of work ethic.”
Part 1: The gymnastics community cannot let these comments to be swept under the rug. I will be as respectful as possible to @mykaylaskinner but instead of engaging in meaningful conversation she blocks anyone who holds her accountable for her words. pic.twitter.com/Y69pwCxnUG

After Simone, Suni Lee, Hezly Rivera, Jade Carey, and Jordan Chiles secured the gold on Tuesday, July 30, she responded with an Instagram post.
She captioned her post with photos of the 2024 US women’s gymnastics team as “Olympic champions”despite their perceived lack of talent and laziness.
The fans wasted no time in expressing their support for Simone and the team in the comments, concurring that MyKayla had indeed “f’ed around and found out.”
“This is as iconic as it gets. She messed around and found out, for real. It almost feels like I have to say sorry just to redeem my own first name,”remarked ex-Olympian McKayla Maroney.
“A fan proclaimed that this caption deserves a gold medal.”
“Another person said, “If Simone Biles just ended you, put a finger down.”
Although Simone retaliated against the criticism, MyKayla did apologize after her video on YouTube gained widespread attention.
In an Instagram post, she clarified that she had no intention of offending or disrespecting any of the athletes or diminishing their hard work.
MyKayla decided to disable the comments on her post, potentially prompting Simone to create her own post.
Despite MyKayla issuing the apology before Simone’s victory at the 2024 Paris Olympics, her determination to stand up for herself was evident and, according to supporters, justified.
