After Pokemon Go’s Raid Day event has ended, players can still obtain free Mega Energy for Lucario every day with a simple trick.
By choosing Lucario as your Buddy, you can receive 25 Mega Energy for every 5km walked. There is no daily limit on this resource, allowing you to accumulate as much as possible each day.
Initially, fans were only receiving 15 Mega Energy for every 5km with their favorite Pokemon due to a bug. However, after Reddit user ‘lxpb’ pointed it out, the issue was quickly resolved and the intended 25 Energy was given, much to the excitement of fans.

The players expressed their satisfaction with Niantic’s prompt resolution of the issue, even playfully commenting on the developers’ apparent fondness for Lucario. Prior to this, the community had praised Niantic for acknowledging their mistake in granting 13 extra Raid Passes during the event.
Moreover, trainers were particularly enthusiastic about utilizing Mega Lucario in Raids and Team Go Rocket battles due to the introduction of its new Fast Move Force Palm, which significantly increased its power. As a result, it has now surpassed all other Fighting-type Pokemon and become the top choice in the game.
Despite the widespread practice of using Lucario as a Buddy for farming Mega Energy, a few players faced a recurring issue. One player expressed their frustration, saying, “I’m not seeing any indication of earning mega energy with him as my buddy, only candy.”
Another person responded, reminding, “You must first Mega Evolve once before you can take them for a walk.”Keep in mind that once you have Mega Evolved at least one Lucario, you will receive free Mega Energy for any other Lucario in your possession, including its pre-evolution Riolu.
To ensure you have a strong Lucario in Pokemon Go, it is recommended to give your Riolu a second Charged Move before evolving if it has perfect IVs or is shiny. This is because, as a Baby species, Riolu only costs 10,000 Stardust for the second move, while Lucario requires 75,000 Stardust.
