Fans of fast food were left with watering mouths when videos began to circulate of a doughnut shop inspired by The Simpsons, appropriately named ‘Homers’ in honor of the beloved doughnut-loving character from the show.
Despite only opening this past March, Homers, a doughnut shop located in Montreal, Canada, has already gained a significant amount of attention. This is evident by the daily queues of people eagerly waiting to enter the shop.
The reason for the store’s popularity lies in their attention to detail in creating a fully immersive experience for The Simpson’s fans. From the vibrant colors to the themed decor, customers can feel fully immersed in the world of the show. Additionally, the store offers Simpson’s-themed arcade games for customers to enjoy, and even the packaging follows the show’s theme.
One thing that may distinguish them from larger chains like Krispy Kreme and Dunkin’ is their daily offering of a ‘doughnut of the day.’ This allows them to constantly surprise and delight their customers with new and unique doughnut creations.
On Day 1, the shop’s owner Terry Axiotis spoke to the Montreal Gazette about their debut and mentioned that they sold out completely. They then doubled their production and once again sold out on Day 2.
According to Axiotis, the store’s triumph can be attributed to diligent efforts and commitment. He mentioned on Wednesday morning that he and his team were busy baking and organizing boxes in anticipation of another bustling day. As a result, they started doubling their production and have been consistently selling out every day. Currently, they have reached their maximum capacity, going through 200 kilos of dough daily.
This indicates that they are successfully selling an impressive 5,000 doughnuts per day to enthusiastic customers.
The new store has posted numerous videos showcasing the different flavors available for purchase. Some of the featured options in the new range include OREO, crème brûlée, and Cookie Monster.
Fans on Instagram were ecstatic about the new store’s post, declaring “These are the best doughnuts in MTL – definitely superior to Krispy Kreme.”
One person exclaimed, “These are definitely the best donuts I’ve ever had! I highly recommend trying the classic flavors like chocolate, Boston cream, maple, jelly, and sugar – they are out of this world. I’ve already been twice and have to resist the temptation to go every day,”another doughnut lover advised.
“”The donuts are absolutely delicious and the service is equally amazing. It is definitely a must-try! I wish continued success for Homers,”another customer chimed in, expressing their clear satisfaction.
The store, situated on Sherbrooke St W in Montreal, is open every day from 10AM to 5PM, as stated on their official Instagram page. Fans are welcome to visit and choose from a variety of doughnut options, including a 6-pack for $10.18 USD or a 12-pack for $15.99 USD.
Krispy Kreme is making waves this April with the announcement of a unique new flavor – white chocolate and cheese. Unlike Homer’s beloved doughnuts, this creation left people feeling uncertain about its taste.
