The prospect of seeing three talented actresses come together is always thrilling, and the upcoming release of Sirens on Netflix is definitely one to keep an eye out for.
The year 2024 has been truly remarkable for the release of new TV shows on Netflix. The platform has been consistently delivering a diverse assortment of shows, such as Baby Reindeer, Bridgerton, and 3 Body Problem, that have captured the attention of audiences and kept us buzzing with excitement.
The remaining lineup for the year is shaping up to be equally impressive, featuring highly anticipated releases such as The Umbrella Academy Season 4, Emily in Paris Season 4, and possibly even Virgin River Season 6.
Despite all of that, there are exciting prospects on the horizon with the addition of Sirens through acquisition. Although it has not received much attention since its announcement, here is everything that we currently know about it.
Sirens Release Date on Netflix
As of now, there is no confirmed release date for Sirens. However, based on current Netflix plans, we can confidently eliminate a possible late 2024 release.
Despite being announced on July 9 and currently in production in New York, it is highly unlikely that Sirens will air this year. The streaming service has a history of making fans wait for extended periods between seasons, so it is unlikely they will rush a new project.
It is highly probable that Sirens will be available for streaming on Netflix sometime in 2025. Based on logical reasoning, it is expected that the release would be in the second half of the year, as other projects like The Thursday Murder Club, which started filming earlier, are scheduled for an early autumn release.
Sirens Cast and Creative Team
The main stars of the Sirens cast are Julianne Moore, Milly Alcock, and Meghann Fahy, along with supporting cast member Kevin Bacon.
If you have not been living under a rock since the 1990s, you are likely familiar with Julianne Moore’s extensive filmography. Her most recent projects include the Mary Kay Letourneau-inspired drama May December, which can be found on Netflix, and the Starz miniseries Mary & George.
It is highly probable that you are already familiar with Milly Alcock and Meghann Fahy, as they have both appeared in numerous popular television series. Alcock portrayed a young version of Rhaenyra Targaryen in the first season of House of the Dragon, while Fahy played the role of the self-aware and impulsive Daphne in the second season of The White Lotus.
The complete list of actors includes:
- Julianne Moore as Michaela Kell
- Meghann Fahy as Devon DeWitt
- Milly Alcock as Simone DeWitt
- Kevin Bacon as Peter Kell
- Glenn Howerton as Ethan Corbin II
- Josh Segarra as Raymond
- Felix Solis as Jose
- Jordan is portrayed by Trevor Salter.

The executive producers of Sirens are Dani Gorin, Nicole Kassell, Tom Ackerley, and the one and only Margot Robbie, who is also known as Producer Barbie.
Is Sirens based on an existing story?
Affirmative!
You may not be familiar with this name, and there’s a valid explanation for that. Back in 2011, it first appeared at the Humana Festival of New American Plays in Louisville, Kentucky, and continued to have performances in different states until 2014.
You may be familiar with Metzler herself. She has previously collaborated with Netflix, serving as the showrunner for Maid, which starred Margaret Qualley.
It remains to be seen how closely the Netflix adaptation will adhere to the original text. It is common for their projects to stray from the source material, so only time will tell.
Sirens plot
Sirens centers around sisters Devon (Fahy) and Simone (Alcock) as Simone accepts a position working for wealthy socialite Michaela (Moore), who is married to a billionaire.
Michaela, a wealthy animal rights activist, leads a lavish and intense lifestyle that is highly appealing to her younger sister Simone. As her older sister, Devon believes it is necessary to intervene… but getting on Michaela’s bad side can be extremely risky.
The entire series takes place during one weekend at the opulent beachfront estate of Michaela and her husband Peter (played by Bacon). According to Netflix, Sirens is a thought-provoking, sensual, and humorously dark examination of female dynamics, influence, and societal divisions.
So far, that’s all the information we have on Sirens. In the meantime, make sure to check out any updates on Stranger Things Season 5, Heartstopper Season 3, and Wednesday Season 2.
