For PC gamers, Assassin’s Creed Shadows is not just visually stunning but also showcases impressive technical prowess, provided your hardware meets the recommended specifications. The game is loaded with a plethora of setting adjustments; however, players often find themselves enduring a wave of opening splash screens and logos before they can dive into the action.
Fortunately, there’s a way to bypass these tedious introductory videos. This guide will help you save time and jump straight into the main menu of Assassin’s Creed Shadows.
How to Skip the Intro Videos in Assassin’s Creed Shadows
Upon launching the game for the first time, players are greeted with several clips that include an Intel advertisement, the franchise’s introduction, and various health warnings. While most of these clips won’t reappear in future play sessions, you will still face the Ubisoft logo and health warnings that are unskippable. To eliminate the repetitive experience, you can simply delete specific video files.
- Navigate to the directory where Assassin’s Creed Shadows is installed:
\Assassin's Creed Shadows\videos
- In the videos folder, locate and delete the
UbisoftLogo.webm
file, as this is the one that appears on every launch. - Next, access the folder corresponding to your preferred language; for instance, if you are using English, look for the en folder. Here, delete the following files:
Epilepsy.webm
warning_disclaimer.webm
WarningSaving.webm
- Alternatively, you can opt to rename these files instead of deleting them. However, this step is generally unnecessary, and rest assured, it will not impact your gameplay or access to the game.
After removing these files, restart Assassin’s Creed Shadows to enjoy an uninterrupted gaming experience. This adjustment can save you around 15 to 20 seconds that would otherwise be spent watching the intro sequences. Ideally, this functionality should be integrated into the game to allow players the option to skip clips with a simple button press. Be advised, though: an update or verifying game files might restore these videos.
This minor inconvenience shouldn’t detract from your overall experience, especially if your goal is to reach the main menu swiftly. Unfortunately, console players lack the option to bypass these intro clips and will need to endure them with each session. It might be a good idea to take a quick snack break during the loading phase. Once you’re in, don’t forget to check out the game’s photo mode and make the most of any available Twitch drops while you play!
