Slayer Flies Into the Fray as Guilty Gear Strive’s Final Season 3 DLC Fighter

After creating a huge buzz with its explosive announcement at EVO Japan 2024, Slayer makes a comeback to the battlefield as the final Season 3 DLC character for Guilty Gear Strive.

The 2023 Arc World Tour Finals provided a sneak peek at the last DLC character for Season 3 of Guilty Gear Strive through a brief teaser trailer, revealing the fighter’s silhouette. Many players speculated that the character could possibly be Slayer, the suave vampire from the series, and their predictions were proven correct.

On April 29, at EVO Japan, the final Season 3 DLC character for Guilty Gear Strive was unveiled as Slayer, accompanied by his wife, Sharon, in all his refined glory.

The ‘relaxed vampire’ has returned with a fresh theme song titled ‘Ups and Downs,’ as well as a new battle stage called ‘Amber Fest with Kind Neighbors.’ This charming winter village features a train and northern lights.

Slayer is back and better than ever with an impressive set of moves, including a powerful punch that rips off most of his attire. Additionally, he is no longer the lone Nightless character in the game as Nagoryuki, another vampire, joins the roster. Fans are eagerly anticipating the release of Slayer in May and the potential interactions with Nagoryuki.

Starting on May 30, Slayer will be available for purchase at a price of $6.99. Users who have already purchased Season Pass 3 ($24.99) will be able to play Slayer on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Steam, Xbox Game Pass, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Windows platforms simultaneously.

Following the release of A.B.A. in March, Slayer is the final character in Strive’s Season 3 roster. However, Arc System Work’s CEO, Minoru Kidooka, has reassured fans that there are plenty of exciting things planned for the game beyond this update.

During an exclusive interview at the Arc World Tour Finals, he assured me that even though season three is coming to a close, it will not mark the end. He emphasized their commitment to supporting Guilty Gear in the future and their plans to promote other titles and provide enjoyable experiences for their players. He also mentioned their desire to bring more surprises, and encouraged fans to eagerly anticipate what is to come.
