On August 21, K-netz and ReVeluvs (fans of Red Velvet) voiced their frustration to SM Entertainment’s Center 3 staff after it was announced that they would no longer share photos of Wendy from her radio show.

Specifically, the celebrity resumed her role as DJ on SBS PowerFM’s “Young Street”on Aug. 19. She has been hosting the radio show since July 2021, but she was unable to continue last year due to a scheduling conflict.

After Kwon Eunbi’s temporary stint as the show’s host, Wendy was chosen to lead the program once more a year later. This decision was made following Eunbi’s announcement on Aug. 4 that she would be prioritizing her individual solo projects.

During Wendy’s return performance, both radio listeners and viewers were captivated by her infectious “happy virus”as she radiated her uplifting and cheerful energy while showcasing her exceptional DJing skills.

She stated:

“I thought I would come back someday, but it’s hard to believe, like a dream. More than anything, I really missed communicating with the listeners, and I will work hard to become a ‘Wandy’ who can give you good energy for a long time.”

Despite the significance of this moment to both the idol and her fans, an unexpected post on Red Velvet’s official SNS “ruined”it.

During X, SM stated:

“Wendy’s return to the first broadcast of Young Street’s commemorative photo. Please check out Wendy’s photos on Young Street’s official account in the future!”

It was insinuated that Red Velvet’s SNS would cease posting her photos on the primary account due to the radio program, resulting in numerous complaints.

In comparison to the official account for “Young Street,”Red Velvet’s main SNS has a significantly larger following of 6 million. Therefore, promoting Wendy’s activity through this account would have a wider reach.

Fans were disappointed and began criticizing SM and Center 3 for not fully supporting Red Velvet and Wendy. According to them, all that needs to be done is to actively promote the members, even without a new release.

These are a few of the comments:

  • “What are you saying? You should upload here as well.”
  • “Next time, remember to post on X on time.”
  • “It’s not even a joke, it’s real?”
  • “It’s really strange, why don’t you upload it to the public domain? I’m asking because I’m really curious.”

  • “Why all of a sudden? Didn’t Wendy renew her solo contract? Why did it change? Why? They didn’t even release an article saying Wendy returned as a DJ. Why can’t you upload her photos in the future? Why?”

“Center 3 is something that makes people feel embarrassed. (1) Uploading photos a long time after the artist’s schedule is over (2) Declare one day that they will no longer do their job.

I won’t say anything about you guys uploading the photos late. But isn’t it too much to not upload photos from her first day? Do your job. I won’t ask for more. Just post photos every day, tomorrow and the day after.”

What is your opinion about this circumstance?
