Snapchat announced that they are showcasing a real-time image model that has the ability to immediately transform your imagination into an augmented reality experience. This initial prototype allows users to enter an idea for a transformation and generate dynamic AR experiences in real-time.
A GIF, which has been shared on the blog, demonstrates the potential functionality of the feature. The individuals featured in the GIF have their background and attire altered in accordance with the prompt “50s sci-fi film.”Snapchat has not disclosed a timeline for the release of this AI technology.
According to TechCrunch, these lenses will be accessible to users in the upcoming months. Meanwhile, creators will be able to begin producing lenses with the model by the end of this year.
Snapchat has introduced a “new GenAI Suite”which aims to simplify the process of creating custom AR effects for creators. The most recent update to Lens Studio offers a variety of additional features, including face effects. By providing a description or image, creators are now able to generate a unique lens that completely alters a user’s facial appearance.
