During an interview, Girls’ Generation member Hyoyeon disclosed that she had already contemplated retiring and expressed worries about her future as a singer.
On July 24, the main dancer of SNSD shared Episode 6 of her individual web series “Hyoyeon’s Food Buying Skills.”
The vlog, which runs for 27 minutes and stars her junior idol, Changbin from Stray Kids, was published on Hyo’s Level Up, her YouTube channel.
On that day, Hyoyeon and the male celebrity had a conversation about various subjects, particularly their experiences as K-pop idols. When Changbin inquired about the female superstar’s plans for her singing career, she shared her worries.
Honestly, Hyoyeon responded:
“That’s a question I ask myself every day.”
The reason for the explanation from the SNSD member was as follows:
“A singer has the limits with the energy they can show and with the concepts, too.”
She continued by making a meaningful remark and then added:
“But recently, really… Will it be until this year? Until next year? I really have these thoughts sometimes. When would be a good time?”
Hyoyeon made Changbin laugh when she asked.
“How long will you do it?”
At the same time, Hyoyeon’s group Girls’ Generation made their debut in 2007 and will be marking their 17th anniversary this August.
Despite being apart and focusing on their individual schedules, all eight members made a collective decision to make a complete comeback if the chance presented itself.
On the July 21 broadcast of JTBC’s ‘Newsroom’, Tiffany from Girls’ Generation made an appearance and discussed her plans for promoting as a full group, garnering attention.
Reflecting on the show, both Hyoyeon and Changbin reminisced about SNSD’s immense popularity and discussed their significant contribution of a 99% stake in the company.
The topic came up when the female idol inquired about her junior’s move to the new JYP building, to which Changbin responded:
“We haven’t moved yet. We are moving in 5 years. I was a trainee for 2 to 3 years, at that time, I was in Cheongdam. After our debut, we went to our new headquarters a year or two later. I heard it’s really big.”
Hyo stated:
“Our company has also moved to better places. As we become more successful. There was a time when we were located in Cheongdam. At the time, the Girls’ Generation’s share was… I can confidently say almost 99%.
Now we’ve moved to Seongsu-dong but that’s not because of us… aespa and… NCT… we don’t have much of a share there.”
