At a press conference for her new drama “Uncle Samsik,”SNSD Tiffany received mixed reactions from fans as some barely recognized her due to her rumored weight loss.
A production presentation for the Disney+ original series, “Uncle Samsik,”was held on May 8 at the Grand InterContinental Seoul Parnas in Samseong-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul.
Director Shin Yeon Sik and the star-studded cast, including main actors Song Kang Ho and Byun Yohan, as well as supporting actors Jin Ki Joo, Seo Hyun Woo, Oh Seung Hoon, Joo Jinmo, Yoo Jae Myeong, and former SNSD member Tiffany Young, were all present at the press conference.
The actress, who is known for her roles in popular shows, revealed her excitement about being involved in this project on the same day.
“I fell in love with the script and the story. I also wanted to join because the character was loveable. I am so honored to be able to work with my seniors, especially Song Kang Ho.”
Tiffany, being a rookie, shared her thoughts on the matter, stating:
“It’s actually my first drama production presentation, and I’m a rookie (as an actor), so I tried to watch and learn as much as possible. It was also a fun point to see my senior’s fashion sense every day.”
Despite feeling nervous, Tiffany confidently posed for the journalists at the event, showcasing her elegant appearance reminiscent of her character Rachel Jung. She wore a white bodycon dress with sparkling silver accents on the top, complemented by white heels and wavy, long hair.
Upon the circulation of her photos on the internet, both SONEs (SNSD fandom) and Young Ones (solo fans) inundated her with abundant praises for her enduring beauty, reminiscent of her appearance in her early 20s.
Despite this, the response from Korean netizens who viewed her photos was varied. Some were questioning her supposed physical transformation and weight loss, causing them to even question if the person in the photos was truly Tiffany.
Some users on the internet have been discussing her elongated face, which has caused her body proportions to look uneven. They have also mentioned that her signature eye smile and lips are not as prominent as before.
Negative comments also flooded in, suggesting that she was following in the footsteps of BoA and Taeyeon, who were recently accused of undergoing cosmetic surgery because of their “distinctive”facial characteristics.
