In a recent report, a K-media outlet highlighted SNSD YoonA’s achievements as one of the most successful building-owners among K-pop idols.
On July 12, the media platform News1 published an article highlighting Girls’ Generation YoonA’s wealth as a property owner.
Specifically, in October 2018, the female celebrity purchased a property in the upscale Cheongdam-dong neighborhood of Gangnam-gu, Seoul.
The total cost for her purchase was 10 billion won ($7.3M), with a price of 70.68 million won ($51.3k) per pyeong (3.3㎡).
The building in question was built in 2014 and is relatively new. It has a land area of 467.7㎡ (141 pyeong), a total floor area of 1,462.56㎡ (442 pyeong), and consists of 2 basement floors and 4 above-ground floors.
The establishment can be found on the rear portion of Dosan-daero in Cheongdam-dong, Gangnam-gu, and is approximately a 10-minute stroll from Gangnam-gu Office Station on Subway Line 7 and Suin-Bundang Line, as well as Apgujeong Rodeo Station. An upcoming stop for the Sinsa-Wirye Line is planned to be opened at the Hakdong Intersection in the near future.
Based on the real estate registry at the time, it was confirmed that YoonA bought this building in her own name with a maximum debt of 7.2 billion won ($5.22M). It is estimated that her actual cash investment, excluding loans, was 4 billion won ($2.9M).
After a period of 6 years, her initial investment had doubled in value, amounting to an increase of 15 billion won ($10.9M) as of 2024.
According to an official from Building Road Real Estate Brokerage who assessed it:
“Based on the purchase price in 2018, if the current rent in 2024 is input, it is a high-yield building with a yield of a whopping 6.38%.”
The current estimated market price is over 25 billion won ($18.12M).
The reason for this is that YoonA’s property, which was located approximately 300m away from the building, was sold for 172 million won ($125k) per pyeong (3.3㎡) in June of last year. Based on this price, the total land area amounts to $18.12M.
Additionally, YoonA holds the position of center and main visual in the highly acclaimed “Nation’s Girl Group”SNSD. In addition to her iconic status as an idol, she has also achieved immense success as a CF Queen and award-winning actress, raking in hundreds of millions.
At present, she holds the role of global face and brand spokesperson for the Hong Kong-based luxury brand, QUELIN, and also serves as the global ambassador for the Italian high-end house, Miu Miu.
YoonA has made a name for herself as an actress with a string of successful dramas including “The King In Love,””Big Mouth,”and “King The Land.”She has also solidified her standing in the film industry with notable performances in “Confidential Assignment,””Exit,”and “A Year-End Medley.”
