Solo Leveling Episode 7: Why didn’t Sung Jinwoo enter the fortress?

Episode 7 of Solo Leveling offered one of the most intense battles in the anime, showing Sung Jinwoo taking on Cerberus. But his next decision may have seemed unexpected.

The story of Solo Leveling wastes no time: while its hero went from being humanity’s weakest hunter, the arrival of the system helped him rise to the top of the ranks. Jinwoo can now improve with each fight, and he has already gained many levels.

So much so that the system offered him items giving him access to a very particular dungeon in episode 7, leading him to face the guardian of the underworld, Cerberus. The confrontation is thrilling, and the hero, although he has become powerful, almost dies between the fangs of the big dog. But he overcomes it… only to finally turn around and refuse to enter the demonic fortress, even though it contains the Sacred Elixir of Life that could save his mother.

Why didn’t Sung Jinwoo enter the Demon Fortress after defeating Cerberus?

After his fight against Cerberus, Jinwoo decides not to enter the demonic fortress, aware that he does not have the level required to survive the dungeon.

The simple guard almost got the better of him, tearing off his limbs and inflicting other equally bloody wounds. The key allowing entry into the dungeon being of rank S, it must lead to a place filled with creatures at a level far too high at this stage for the hunter.

In the Solo Leveling manhwa, if Cerberus is indeed a fierce opponent to the point of convincing Jinwoo to gain a few more levels, he does not however put the young man in such a perilous situation. However, he will also turn around, to attack less dangerous portals in the company of Jinho.

Before returning to the Demon Fortress, he will first go through other trials in Solo Leveling, including a quest allowing him to change classes.
