The Solo Leveling anime has broken all records, but its first season is ending soon: if you’re looking to continue the adventure alongside Jinwoo, here’s how to read the webtoon in France.
Solo Leveling is only one season in, but it has already made a lasting impression. The story of Sung Jinwoo, who went from zero to hero in a Korea invaded by mysterious portals, has captivated viewers since it began broadcast on January 6, 2024.
The animated series signed by the renowned studio A-1 Pictures brilliantly adapts a popular work in the landscape of Korean webtoons: because before being an anime, Solo Leveling is a novel and a manhwa, the Korean equivalent of manga Japanese.
As the anime nears the end of its season 1, you may be wondering how to continue following the fast-paced story of Jinwoo and his very special companions. We’ll explaine everything here.
Where and how to read the Solo Leveling webtoon in France?
We might as well start with the good news: the Solo Leveling manhwa is finished, but it has been fully translated into French. To read it on official platforms, however, you will have to pay.
The boards written by the author Chugong and drawn by the Redice studio are in fact licensed in France. Formerly available on the verytoon platform, the webtoon can now be found on the Piccoma application, belonging to the Kakao group.
For the physical format, you should turn to Editions Delcourt. The volumes, larger than manga and entirely in color, generally cover a dozen chapters each. But the paper edition is not yet finished: volume 13 will be released on May 29, 2024 and is far from concluding Jinwoo’s story.
Where to start Solo Leveling webtoon after watching the anime?
The last episode of Solo Leveling, entitled “Arise” should stop at chapter 46, or even 47, i.e. in the middle of volume 4 of the paper edition.
However, because the Solo Leveling anime is an adaptation, some scenes change places in the webtoon’s timeline. We must also count on additions that the studio A-1 Pictures made, with the advice of the author Chugong. Another particularity to take into account: the manhwa, although very serious and also leaning into the horror genre when necessary, also has comic scenes that are sometimes welcome, but absent from the anime.
In total, the webtoon from Chugong and the Redice studio has 180 chapters for its main story, and 21 which serve as a “suite” , or more precisely as an epilogue. As for the anime, Solo Leveling season 2 has not been confirmed yet.
