Solo Leveling: When is the first episode of the anime released?

The long-awaited anime adaptation of Solo Leveling is all set to conquer the screens. When will the first episode be released?

Adapting a popular manhwa by Chugong (screenplay) and Jang Sung-rak (drawing), Solo Leveling is a fantasy action series. In the story, the heroes’ world changed radically 10 years earlier, following the appearance of a portal connecting their universe to a kingdom filled with magic and monsters. Modern weaponry does not work on these creatures, they are humans called “hunters” and who have received powers that are sent to the pipebreaker.

The story focuses on Sung Jinwoo, who tirelessly hunts monsters in low-ranking gates to pay for his mother’s medical care and his sister’s education.

A-1 Pictures’ anime adaptation of Solo Leveling is directed by Shunsuke Nakashige. Noboru Kimura is the screenwriter, Tomoko Sudo the anime character designer and Hirotaka Tokuda in charge of the monster design. So, when can you catch the first episode of the anime?

Solo Leveling release date is set for January 6, 2024 on Crunchyroll.

The site’s official schedule has not yet confirmed a precise time, but the broadcast in Japan will take place on January 7 at midnight: taking into account the time difference, we should therefore discover the episode on January 6 a shortly after 4 p.m.

The Crunchyroll summary presents the anime like this: “What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger! But this saying does not apply to the weakest hunter in all of humanity, Jinwoo Sung. After being fatally injured when he stumbled upon a hidden double dungeon, Jinwoo miraculously survived. On the verge of death, he sees a quest and seizes an opportunity which allows him to gain power very quickly. Now he wants to discover the secrets of his powers and the dungeon that spawned them.”
