The image reportedly originated from an Indian user on social media, who had shared multiple AI-generated photos, with some being easily recognizable as artificial. Among them, one image appeared convincingly real, leading to its spread across various platforms. Upon closer examination, even this seemingly authentic photo displayed clear indicators of manipulation, such as the absence of Hyun Bin’s arm and an odd hand position while holding Son Ye-jin. Additionally, the child in the photo appeared significantly younger than their actual son, who was born in 2022 and is nearing three years old.

Official Statements Clarifying the Situation

In response to the controversy, a representative from Hyun Bin’s agency provided clarification to OSEN on July 5:

“The circulating image claimed to be a family photo is a fake, created using AI. There’s no need for an official statement beyond that. However, to prevent confusion, the agency is actively taking steps to have the fake images removed through the proper legal channels.”

Similarly, a spokesperson for Son Ye-jin’s agency remarked:

“As you know, Son Ye-jin has never shared a photo of her child. Nonetheless, due to the strong affection fans have for her and her family, AI-generated images of their supposed child have surfaced ever since their wedding announcement. For overseas accounts, we can report or request removals, but suspending accounts is often difficult.”
