On December 27th, SBS aired an episode of “Curious Story Y,” focusing on the controversies surrounding Song Mino’s alleged inadequate military service and claims of receiving special privileges. The broadcast ignited a flurry of articles and vigorous discussion among netizens, highlighting public discontent regarding the idol’s conduct during his military enlistment.
During the episode, testimony from fellow servicemen suggested that Song Mino may have been granted leniency in his duties, with specific allegations that he avoided phone and civil service tasks, fearing recognition. A social service worker mentioned, “I encountered him several times in the beginning, but seldom saw him later.”
An investigative journalist also disclosed, “Witnesses reported seeing the male idol playing video games and even bringing a laptop and keyboard to fulfill music-related activities during his service.”
Previously, Song Mino had expressed challenges adapting to military life, attributing his struggles to social anxiety. However, netizens expressed their outrage upon discovering he attended a party in Gangwon-do and recently joined a running crew as he prepares for his imminent discharge.
The revelations from “Curious Story Y” have only intensified the backlash from the public. A wave of criticism erupted online, with many users stating, “If the allegations hold true, he should be expelled from the entertainment industry.” Others added remarks like, “He needs to re-enlist,” and “This is unacceptable,” among various other comments expressing that he has not served his duty diligently.
